Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cougars alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Brock Motum (6'10''-F-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Turkey) was the major contributor in an Anadolu Efes' victory against one of league's weakest teams Buducnost (3-11) crushing them 106-68 in the Euroleague last Tuesday. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (10-4) is placed fourth in the Euroleague. Motum's team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Motum averages 8.1ppg and 2.0rpg in 14 games he played so far.

   #2. Klay Thompson (6'7''-G-90, graduated '11, plays in the NBA) led Golden State Warriors to a victory against the Sacramento Kings (16-15) 130-125 in the NBA on Friday night. He scored 27 points (!!!), grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Golden State Warriors have a solid 21-11 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Thompson's eighth year with the team. Thompson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 22.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg. Thompson is a naturalized Bahamian.

   #3. Experienced Taylor Rochestie (6'1''-PG-85, graduated '09, currently in China) led Tianjin Gold Lions to a victory over the league outsider Bayi Rockets (4-18) 97-88 in the Chinese CBA in Sunday night's game. Rochestie was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 41 points and making 10 passes. Rochestie also added 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) in 46 minutes. Tianjin Gold Lions (4-17) are placed second from the bottom (#19) in the CBA. Rochestie has very impressive stats this year 33.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 10.0apg and 1.1spg in 21 games. He is a naturalized Montenegrin.

   #4. Josh Hawkinson (6'10''-F-95, graduated '17, plays pro in Japan) could not help Toyotsu FE (15-9) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Toyotsu FE (15-9) was defeated 98-85 at home by the leading Cyberdyne IR in the Central group. Hawkinson recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 6 assists and 4 blocks. This season Hawkinson has very high stats. He averages 22.9ppg, 11.0rpg and 2.8apg.

   #5. Kyle Weaver (6'6''-G-86, graduated '08, plays in Lithuania) contributed to Neptunas' victory against the eighth-ranked Prienu Skycop (4-10) 83-72 in the Lithuanian LKL on Saturday night. He scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. Neptunas Klaipeda (12-2) is placed second in the LKL. It's Weaver's first season with the team. This year Weaver averages 9.2ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.8apg and 1.8spg in 13 games.

   #6. D.J. Shelton (6'10''-F-91, graduated '14, currently in Turkey), who plays in Turkey was not able to help Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (5-4) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Shelton's very good performance Banvit Basketbol Kulubu was defeated 85-71 on the road by the lower-ranked Le Mans (#6). He was the top scorer with 16 points. Shelton has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg and 3.0rpg.

   #7. Aron Baynes (6'10''-C-86, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Boston Celtics (18-12) in their last game. Despite Baynes' good performance the Boston Celtics lost 104-113 in Detroit to the Pistons. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. This year Baynes averages 5.5ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg in 25 games. He has also New Zealand citizenship.

   #8. Thomas Abercrombie (6'6''-F-87, graduated '08, plays in Australia) contributed to a New Zealand Breakers' victory against the league outsider Cairns Taipans 89-78 in the Australian NBL on Sunday night. Abercrombie scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. He has relatively good stats this season 10.6ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.1apg.

   #9. Charles Callison (6'0''-PG-95, graduated '17, currently in Denmark) managed to help Horsens IC in a victory against the leader EBAA crushing them 95-64 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Sunday night's game. Callison scored only 2 points and added 3 assists in 12 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 16.5ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.3apg and 2.0spg in 12 games.

   #10. Davonte Lacy (6'4''-G-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Germany) was the main contributor in a PS Karlsruhe Lions' victory against the closely-ranked Uni Baskets crushing them 100-74 in the German ProA (second division) last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Lacy scored 24 points, made 7 passes and 3 steals. This season he has very high stats. Lacy averages 15.6ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.1apg and 1.3spg.
