Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bearcats alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Adam Hrycaniuk (6'9''-C-84, graduated '08, plays pro in Poland) led Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Spojnia Stargard (2-8) crushing them 85-59 in the Polish EBL last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds in 20 minutes. Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora (10-2) is placed first in the EBL. It's Hrycaniuk's sixth season with the team. This year Hrycaniuk averages 7.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.1apg in 12 games he played so far.

   #2. Octavius Ellis (6'10''-C-93, played in 2011-16, plays in Greece) contributed to Promitheas' victory against the 11th-ranked Aris (2-7) 71-61 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. ASP Promitheas Patras (6-3) is placed fifth in the A1. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Ellis averages 7.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3bpg.

   #3. Lance Stephenson (6'5''-G/F-90, graduated '10, currently in the NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Los Angeles Lakers (18-13) in their last game. Despite Stephenson's very good performance the Los Angeles Lakers (18-13) lost 111-126 on the road to the Houston Rockets. He recorded 17 points in 23 minutes. It's Stephenson's first season with the team. Stephenson has relatively good stats this year 7.9ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.9apg in 30 games.

   #4. Cheikh Mbodj (6'10''-C-87, graduated '13, plays pro in Poland) led Polski Cukier Torun to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked GTK (4-6) 113-98 in the Polish EBL last Sunday. He recorded 13 points. Polski Cukier Torun (8-2) is placed third in the EBL. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Mbodj has relatively good stats this year 11.0ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.1apg and 2.1bpg.

   #5. Yancy Gates (6'9''-C/F-89, graduated '12, plays in Mexico) led Abejas de Guanajuato to a victory over the sixth-ranked Santos (9-12) crushing them 107-84 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Friday night. He was MVP of the game. Gates scored 28 points (!!!), grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. Abejas de Guanajuato (9-11) is placed fifth in South group. It's Gates' first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Gates averages 17.5ppg, 9.6rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1bpg in eight games.

   #6. Coreontae DeBerry (6'10''-C-94, graduated '16, currently in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese LPB was not able to help Ovarense (6-4) in their last game on Saturday. Despite DeBerry's very good performance Ovarense was crushed 101-78 in Lisbona by the leading Benfica. He was the second best scorer with 15 points. This season DeBerry averages 7.0ppg and 2.9rpg.

   #7. Anthony McClain (6'11''-C-88, graduated '12, plays pro in Taiwan) was the main contributor in a Dacin Tigers' victory against the league outsider Bank of Taiwan 89-73 in the Taiwanese SBL last Saturday. McClain was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 17 rebounds. McClain also added 4 blocks in 33 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 17.2ppg, 14.8rpg and 2.2bpg in 10 games.

   #8. Ibrahima Thomas (7'0''-F-87, graduated '12, plays in Lebanon) was the major contributor in a Hoops Club's victory against the closely-ranked Beirut Club 77-68 in a derby game in the Lebanese LBL on Friday night. He scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Thomas has relatively good stats this season 14.0ppg, 10.8rpg, 1.3bpg and 1.3spg.

   #9. Gary Clark (6'7''-F-94, graduated '18, currently in the NBA) managed to help Houston Rockets in a victory against the Washington Wizards 136-118 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. He recorded only 3 points in 4 minutes on the court. This year Clark averages 3.3ppg and 2.8rpg in 23 games.

   #10. Immanuel McElroy (6'5''-G-80, graduated '02, plays pro in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Science City Jena in their game against s Oliver Baskets in the German BBL. He scored 6 points. His team was defeated 80-65. This season McElroy averages 5.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg.
