Erin Boley
The Oregon women's basketball team has signed forward Erin Boley (6'2''-F), a transfer from Notre Dame, head coach Kelly Graves announced on Wednesday. Boley is another young, talented piece for Graves and the Ducks, choosing to come to Oregon after spending her freshman season with the Irish last year. "Erin is the whole package when it comes to being a great teammate, a hard worker, an amazing student and a talented player," said Graves. "She is a competitor and a winner in every sense." Boley was highly-touted coming out of high school as a 2016 McDonald's All-American and the 2016 Gatorade National Player of the Year while playing at Elizabethtown High School. She was also a three-time Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, the 2015 USA Today Kentucky Player of the Year and a first-team all-state selection. "I've never seen a player with her work ethic," said Tim Mudd, Boley's coach at Elizabethtown. "You either have that desire to work hard or you don't, and she certainly has it." As a senior, she averaged 20.7 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block per game, leading her team to a 31-3 record and a second straight state tournament appearance. "What I love most when I've watched her play is her versatility and scoring efficiency," said Graves. "She is an elite three-point shooter, can score off the dribble and in traffic and is automatic at the free-throw line. She has a high basketball IQ and a competitive spirit. She is a great fit for our team and university. "She's a complete player," said Kenucky Premier coach David Tapley. "This kid can play back to the basket, she can take you off the dribble, shoot the three-pointer and she's a 4.0 kid. She's a gym rat. She's a kid that wants to be pushed and she's a winner." Due to NCAA transfer rules, Boley will be forced to sit out her first season in Eugene. She will have three years of eligibility remaining when she first hits the court as a Duck.
