Jacks repeat as Summit League champs - Mar 13, 2019

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Tournament MVP Macy Miller (6'0''-G) sparked a game-changing run to end the first half and South Dakota State never looked back as the Jackrabbits claimed their second straight Summit League Women's Basketball Championship title.

Miller finished with a tournament-high 30 points in the contest with a bevy of those coming in that decisive second-quarter run that spanned over six minutes, erased a nine-point deficit and allowed the Jacks to take a 45-38 advantage into the break.

During that 22-2 run, Miller became the league's all-time leading scorer as she had nine of her 18 first-half points during that stretch.

Miller's classmate Madison Geubert added 22 points and the Jacks would grow their lead to as many as 19 points after the break. South Dakota's Allison Arens (5'10''-G), the Coyotes' lone senior, added 26 points to lead her squad.

The Coyotes took momentary control early in the second quarter, stretching their lead to its peak at 25-15 after a layup by Monica Arens (5'10''-G), but the Jackrabbits flipped the script moments later. Miller and company roared back to take its own double-digit advantage and it was on the back end of consecutive and-ones that sent the Mitchell, S.D., native to the top of the scoring charts, passing Oral Roberts' Kevi Louper.

The Jackrabbits kept the momentum in the third, opening the period on a 9-2 run before outscoring South Dakota by 12 in the quarter to carry a 68-49 advantage into the fourth. The Coyotes would trim that down to eight with under a minute to play, but the 25th-ranked Coyotes would run out of time.
