Cinderella Run Continues For Cal Poly As It Heads To The Big Dance - Mar 16, 2014
Cal Poly is headed to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history after knocking off Cal State Northridge, 61-59, in the finals of the Big West Men's Basketball Tournament at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.. Cal Poly, the seventh seed, becomes the lowest seed to ever win the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.
Chris Eversley (6'7''-F-91), tournament most valuable player, tallied a game-high 18 points and five rebounds. Dave Nwaba (6'4''-F-93) and Ridge Shipley (6'0''-G) also produced double-digit performances with 17 and 14 points.
