The Halifax Hurricanes outscored the Island Storm 12-4 in the final two minutes Monday to win the National Basketball League of Canada contest 117-110. Tyree White (6'4''-G/F, college: Queens, NY) gave the Storm a 106-105 lead with 2:08 remaining, but Rhamel Brown (6'7''-F-92, college: Manhattan) restored the host Hurricanes lead 17 seconds later and Halifax would not relinquish it. Former Storm guard Terry Thomas (6'4''-G/F-91, college: Ottawa) had a game-high 36 points to go with eight rebounds and an assist to pace the Hurricanes attack. Joel Kindred (6'4''-G-91, college: St.Augustine) and Tyler Thornton (6'1''-G-92, college: Duke) each chipped in 15 points in the win while teammates Mike Poole (6'5''-F-92, college: Iona) and Chadrack Lufile (6'9''-F-90, college: Wichita St.) both had 14. Poole added seven rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block. White had a team-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a steal. Guillaume Boucard (6'6''-F-90, college: Carleton) had 22 points and a team-high 13 rebounds. Jonathan Loyd and Alex Campbell (6'2''-G-93, college: Windsor) each had 17 points. The Hurricanes improved to 21-15 while the Storm is 10-24. The Storm goes to Saint John, N.B., Thursday in a pivotal game with Riptide (16-21) as the teams battle for the final playoff berth.

KYLE JOHNSON St. John's Edge (NBL Canada) landed 30-year old British international guard Kyle Johnson (195-88kg-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Blacktop Management). Titans finish off the Lightning to win series 3-2 - 4 days ago
The London Lightning lost to the KW Titans 109-93 after the Titans went out to an early lead that had the Lightning playing catchup.
