The Halifax Hurricanes didn't bring their A game on Sunday afternoon. The Island Storm built an insurmountable 79-43 lead at halftime and cruised to a 129-105 NBL Canada victory over the visiting Hurricanes at Charlottetown. The teams were scheduled to face each other again Monday evening at Scotiabank Centre but that game has been postponed due to the weather system of snow, freezing rain and rain that's expected to hit the region on Monday. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, eight Storm players reached double digits in points. Tyree White (6'4''-G/F, college: Queens, NY) led the way with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Alex Campbell (6'2''-G-93, college: Windsor) had a triple-double with 10 points, 11 boards and 11 assists for the Storm (8-22). The Storm had 60 rebounds to the Hurricanes' 39. Terry Thomas (6'4''-G/F-91, college: Ottawa) was top scorer with 23 points for Halifax (19-13), which had its seven-game winning streak snapped. Joel Kindred (6'4''-G-91, college: St.Augustine) added 21 points. Devin Sweetney (6'6''-G/F-87, college: St.Francis, PA) answered with 18 points for the Highlanders, who remain in Newfoundland to face the Edge on Monday.

After running through the KW Titans on March 23rd, the Moncton Magic follow it up by coming back and beating the Windsor Express in O...   [read more]
