Sampson Carter (6'8''-F-90, college: Massachusetts) scored 26 points to lead the Island Storm to a 123-111 victory over the London Lightning on Saturday night. The National Basketball League of Canada game attracted a crowd of 1,303 to Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. Tyler Scott (6'3''-G, college: UPEI, agency: Interperformances) came off the bench to score 22 points for the Storm, who improved to 2-1 (won-lost). Russell Byrd (6'7''-G-92, college: Michigan St.) chipped in with 17 points while Alex Campbell (6'2''-G-93, college: Windsor), who had a team-high 10 rebounds, Dominic Shuler (6'6''-F) and Robbie Robinson (6'5''-G/F, college: CS San Bernar.) all contributed 13 points. Xavier Moon (6'2''-G-95, college: Morehead St., agency: Interperformances) poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Lightning (3-2). Grant Williamson added 22 points. The Storm led 59-53 at halftime. The Storm's next game is against the Cape Breton Highlanders at Eastlink Centre on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Halifax Hurricanes controlled all four quarters of Wednesday night's blowout win over the Windsor Express at Scotiabank Centre, cruising to a 144-77 victory.
