The Pacers add Mathias

Dakota Mathias

The Indiana Pacers added 28-year-old guard Dakota Mathias on Exhibit 10 deal. In 5 NBA Summer League games, he recorded 6.6ppg and 1.2rpg. Last season, he played for ratiopharm Ulm (BBL) in the German league, competing in three different competitions. Mathias played 8 games in the German BBL, averaging 14.5ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.1spg, helping the team reach the cup final. He was named League Player of the Week. Mathias also contributed to 9 games in Eurocup, where he averaged 13.6ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.6apg, and 1.0spg.
Mathias has never been drafted by the NBA.
He also represented the USA at the World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan, seven years ago. His team won Silver, and he averaged almost 12 points per game.
Mathias is a highly experienced player. He has played professionally in Germany, Spain (Joventut and Tenerife), and with various NBA teams (Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Memphis Grizzlies), as well as in the NBA G League (Texas Legends, Memphis Hustle, and G League Ignite) and NBA Summer League (LA Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, and Utah Jazz White).
Mathias won the NBA Summer League championship title in Salt Lake City in 2021.
He graduated from Purdue University in 2018 and it'll be his seventh season as a pro player.
