Kyrie Irving
The conspiracy theories are flying in Thursday as news of Kyrie Irving (6'3''-G-92, college: Duke)'s management change hit the NBA community. Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Irving has split with long-time agent Jeff Wechsler and is set to partner with ROC Nation Sports just weeks before entering free agency. With Irving not expected to opt in to his player option in Boston, the decision has fans and pundits alike connecting dots. Irving's decision to sign with ROC Nation - founded by Jay-Z, a former stakeholder in the Nets - has done little to quell speculation the 25-year-old is set to snub the New York Knicks and join Brooklyn instead. On top of that, Nets CEO Brett Yormark's twin brother, Michael, is ROC Nation's President. The agency also happens to represent Kevin Durant. 'The Knicks and Nets are both still interested in signing Durant and Irving together, league sources said,' Wojnarowski reported. With ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reporting Irving was leaning towards Brooklyn last week, this latest development is another juicy nugget in what is bound to be an intriguing summer for the one-time NBA champion.

Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard (6'7''-F-91, college: San Diego St.) will decline his 2019-20 player option worth $21.3 million to become an unrestricted free agent, league sources told Yahoo Sports. The 6-foot-7 All-Star will be one of the marquee free agents on the open market. The Raptors are the only team that can offer Leonard a max contract for five years and $190 million. Leonard, 27, is believed to be seriously considering re-signing with the Raptors, sources said. But there ar...   [read more]
