Raptors held off 76ers in the opener. The game without a history. Raptors led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Kawhi Leonard (201-91, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam (206-94, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Tobias Harris (206-92, college: Tennessee) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and Australian point guard Ben Simmons (208-96, college: LSU) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for 76ers. Five 76ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Celtics knocked down Bucks in Milwaukee in Game 1. Celtics dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Bucks' 36. Celtics had a 48-37 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Celtics made 11 blocks. Australian-American guard Kyrie Irving (190-92, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Dominican power forward Alfred Horford (208-86, college: Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Five Celtics players scored in double figures. Forward Khris Middleton (203-91, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Greek-Nigerian swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Golden State rallied past visiting Houston in the opening game of the Conference semifinals. Warriors dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets' 34 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rockets 38-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Warriors looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Kevin Durant (206-88, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Draymond Green (201-90, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Warriors players scored in double figures. At the losing side James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists and guard Eric Gordon (193-88, college: Indiana) scored 27 points.
