Boston Celtics strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old guard R.J. Hunter (198-84kg-93, college: Georgia State). It is actually his comeback to the Celtics as he has played here before. Hunter just played at Erie Bay Hawks. In 22 NBA G League games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 4.3apg and 2.0spg this season. Hunter also spent pre-season at the Hawks earlier that year. He was also tried-out by the Rockets.
In 2015 Hunter was drafted by the Celtics in first round (28th overall). He attended Georgia State and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Hunter received All-Sun Belt Player of the Year award and NABC All-District 24 1st Team award back in 2015 at his college time.
Hunter has played previously for five other teams: Chicago Bulls, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Maine Red Claws, Windy City Bulls and Long Island Nets.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Versatile shooting guard with tremendous range and very good ball handling skills. .. Has very good leaping ability and has shown the ability to defend players at multiple positions.
