Jusuf Nurkic joins the 5 x 5 Club! Sets an NBA record!

Jusuf Nurkic joined an elite group of 5x5 players that only a select few have in NBA history. He joined players like Draymond Green, Andrei Kirilenko, Anthony Davis, Hakeem Olajuwan and David Robinson to name a few. His numbers 24 points, 23 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks are even more impressive when you watch the game tape of his performance.

One of the players in the 5 x 5 club is the GM of his opponent on the evening, Serbian legend Vlade Divac.

Running the court hard and finding teammates for ally-oop passes, entry passes to the post area, finishing pick n roll with his running mate Damien Lillard just to name a few. His help defense, energy and court awareness was as impressive of a display as I have seen in the NBA for a player without the initials LBJ. Dribble drive hand offs, hard screens and soft touches in the paint punctuated an eventful evening for the Bosnian big man known as the Bosnian Beast.

He seemed to enjoy facing off against Serbian big man Nemanja Bjelica and he did damage against him all night. His help defense was outstanding and he ran the court like a thoroughbred with his running mates in the backcourt and was rewarded with easy baskets at the rim on the other end. He blocked shots, helped with defense on perimeter shooters and chased down players as they attempted to finish at the rim. He fed on Harry Giles and hit cross court passes for assists. He harassed Willie Cauley-Stein into a 2-12 shooting performance. His blew up DeAron Fox on a screen, freeing up Damien Lillard to go all the way to the basket and tie the game at 103-103 with 15 seconds left. In overtime Nurkic showed his heart and hustle when he hit the floor to force a loose ball. Even more impressive, that the 113-108 overtime win was the effort and result put up by Jusuf Nurkic on this record setting night. He did it all while playing on the road against the most improved team in the NBA so far.

The final stats for Nurkic looked like this… 38 minutes, 24pts on only 10 shots from the field (he went 14-16 from the FT line), 23 rebounds, 7assists, 5 steals, 5 blocks and a index of 49! His quote after the game 'I worked my ass off to put us in position there'. He had a remarkable performance, likely it won't be his last one.

A night for the history books for the Bosnian Beast!

The Regular Season in NBA is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 15 days. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last day review presented by ESL. The game between third ranked Thunder (43-31) and fifth ranked Grizzlies (30-44) was the most important one in the last day on Monday night. Thunder was defeated by Grizzlies in Oklahoma City 115-103. They made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percen...   [read more]

Portland centre Jusuf Nurkic suffers horrifying broken leg against Brooklyn - 16 hours ago
First it was Paul George (6'9''-G/F-90, college: Fresno St.), then Gordon Hayward (6'8''-G/F-90, college: Butler) and now another NBA superstar has gone down with a horrifying broken leg. This time it is Portland Trail Blazers centre Jusuf Nurkic (7'0''-C-94), whose leg buckled and snapped as he came down from attempting to make an offensive rebound in the second period of overtime in Portland's 148-144 win over the Brooklyn Nets. With Portland leading 134-132 Mo Harkless missed a bucket...   [read more]
