The Celtics again found themselves in a hole too deep to dig out of and lost at home to the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, 117-109. For the Celtics, the loss gives the club a 9-9 record-a rather disappointing record of .500. Once again, after being out-hustled and outworked by the Knicks, the Celtics found themselves with a 21-point fourth quarter deficit to deal with, and although they managed to outshoot the Knicks from both the three-point line and the free throw line in the fourth, they couldn't complete the comeback. The Knicks were led by Trey Burke (6'1''-PG-92, college: Michigan) (29 points, 11 assists) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (6'6''-G-92, college: Michigan), Jr. (21 points). For the Celtics, Gordon Hayward (6'8''-G/F-90, college: Butler) rebounded nicely from Monday night's disappointing effort with 19 points off the bench, while Marcus Morris also chipped in 21 points. Kyrie Irving (6'3''-G-92, college: Duke) led the team with 22.
