Joel Embiid
The Philadelphia 76ers extend their home winning record to 10-0 after an impressive 121-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Aussie Ben Simmons (6'10''-F-96, college: LSU) posted 22 points eight rebounds and seven assists, but it was Joel Embiid (7'0''-C-94, college: Kansas) who was the star of the show, recording 31 points and 19 rebounds, winning the battle of the big men against Anthony Davis (6'10''-C-93, college: Kentucky). Davis had a chance to tie the game up in the dying seconds after Embiid fouled him on a three-point attempt, but the Pelicans star missed his third attempt after making the first two, giving the 76ers the W. Philly looked to have things in the bag in the final few minutes, before New Orleans exploded on an 8-0 run capped by a Nikola Mirotic (6'10''-F/C-91) three-pointer with 1:08 remaining, to cut the lead to one. J.J. Redick (6'4''-G-84, college: Duke) immediately hit back with a tough finish at the rim, to give the 76ers a three-point lead with less than 40 seconds remaining and set up the grandstand finish. Davis, who shot just 4-of-13 from the field, finished with 12 points on the night, scoring his 10,000th point of his career, becoming the eighth youngest in NBA history to reach the mark (25 years, 255 days). Davis also recorded a 5x5 game, adding 16 rebounds, six assists, five steals and five blocks in the loss. It's the first time since Draymond Green achieved the feat in 2015 and just the third time a 5x5 game has been recorded since 2006. Jrue Holiday led the Pelicans with 30 points and 10 assists, while E'Tuan Moore added 30 points of his own. Julius Randle (6'9''-F-94, college: Kentucky) provided a spark off the bench, with 22 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

Paul George
George scores 33 to help Thunder top Clippers 110-104 - 6 hours ago
Paul George (6'9''-G/F-90, college: Fresno St.) rendered the Los Angeles Clippers' traps and double-teams useless. Oklahoma City's forward shredded the Clippers for 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 110-104 victory on Saturday night. "I'm fine being trapped," George said. "That's where we're going to need our guys the most - for them to make plays out of it. Honestly, I think that's the easiest way for me to get myself going because I make those plays early. And we burn them,...   [read more]

Dunn, Markkanen rally Bulls late to beat Spurs, 98-93 - 6 hours ago
Kris Dunn (6'4''-G-94, college: Providence) scored 24 points, Lauri Markkanen (7'1''-PF-97, college: Arizona) added 23 and the Chicago Bulls rallied from a 21-point deficit in the second half to stun the San Antonio Spurs 98-93 on Saturday night. The rally snapped Chicago's three-game skid and ended San Antonio's four-game winning streak. LaMarcus Aldridge (6'11''-F/C-85, college: Texas) had 29 points and 12 rebounds for San Antonio, which dominated the first half. DeMar DeRozan (6'7''-F/...   [read more]

Wizards, Suns revive trade sending Trevor Ariza to Washington - 17 hours ago
After a three-team trade crumbled in spectacular fashion hours earlier, the Washington Wizards resurrected a deal to acquire Phoenix Suns forward Trevor Ariza (6'8''-F-85, college: UCLA), league sources told ESPN. The Wizards are sending forward Kelly Oubre (6'7''-G/F-95, college: Kansas) Jr. and guard Austin Rivers (6'4''-G-92, college: Duke) to the Suns in the deal, league sources said. Hours earlier, a three-team trade that included Memphis imploded when the Grizzlies and Suns insisted...   [read more]
