Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) cut 25-year old swingman K.J. McDaniels (198-93, college: Clemson).
In 2014 McDaniels was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers in second round (32nd overall). The former Clemson University standoutis in his fifth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements McDaniels won D-League Soutwest Division championship title in 2016. He received also All-ACC Defensive Player of the Year award back in 2014 at his college time.
McDaniels has played previously for five other teams: Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Grand Rapids Drive.
His game is described as: Explosive player from a scoring standpoint. Plays with tremendous athleticism and has the ability to make spectacular plays. Possesses a 35.5-inch vertical leap. Comes from a strong basketball pedigree...father, Kevin McDaniels, Sr., played at South Alabama from 1989-91...Kevin was a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection in 1991 after leading the Jaguars in scoring at 13.4 points per game...South Alabama advanced to the NCAA Tournament that season after winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
