Mike James
Phoenix Suns (NBA) waived 27-year old point guard Mike James (185-86kg-90, college: Lamar). In 32 NBA games he recorded 10.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.8apg this season.
The last season James played at Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens in Greek A1 where in 24 games he averaged 12.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.9apg. He helped them to win the Greek League title and the cup. A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League Import Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team. James played 25 games in Euroleague where he had 13.1ppg, 2.2rpg and 3.0apg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Honorable Mention.
James has never been drafted by the NBA.
He is quite experienced player. James has played also professionally in Croatia (Zagreb), Israel (Hapoel Galilee), Italy (Omegna), Spain (Baskonia) and Greece (Kolossos H Hotels).
He attended Lamar University until 2012 and it is his sixth season as a professional player.
On James: An explosive playmaker, Mike James is an athletic point-guard with the ability to play both on and off the ball. Mike excelled at Lamar University where he earned First Team All Conference honors as a senior, and was named Southland Conference Tournament MVP while leading the Cardinals to a conference championship and an NCAA tournament appearance. Mike scored at least 25 points in 7 games his senior year, and at least 20 points in 13 games, including a 29 point performance against
Kentucky. As a Junior, Mike scored an NCAA Division I leading 52 points in one game, including 11 three pointers. With deep range, a unique ability to finish at the rim, and the ability to create shots for himself and his teammates, Mike is prepared to thrive at the next level
.

Marcus Smart (6'4''-G-94, college: Oklahoma St.) and the Boston Celtics have agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal. Smart was a restricted free agent. Smart could have played the 18-19 season under the $6 million qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason. Dirk Nowitzki (7'0''-F-78) will accept a one-year deal with the Mavericks worth $5MM, but the contract may not be finalized for a while, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
