Drive loses to Blue Coats; Bay Hawks ease past Red Claws - Mar 21, 2019

Here is the last day review presented by ESL.

The game between second ranked Drive (24-22) and fifth ranked Blue Coats (19-28) was the most important one in the last day on Wednesday night. Drive was defeated by Blue Coats in a tough game in Newark, Delaware 135-144. Blue Coats made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Drive only scored ten points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for guard Shake Milton (198-96, college: SMU) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward DJ Hogg (206-96, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) answered with 32 points and 8 assists for Drive. Drive's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Blue Coats moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maine RC. Drive at the other side keeps the second position with 22 games lost.
An interesting game for Warriors (32-15) which played road game in Washington against second-best Capital City Go-Go (24-25). First ranked Warriors managed to get a 4-point victory 120-116. It was a great evening for guard Damion Lee (198-92, college: Louisville) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Juan Toscano helped adding 3 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Warriors' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Jordan McRae (197-91, college: Tennessee) with 32 points and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Warriors maintains first place with 32-15 record. Newly promoted Capital City Go-Go keeps the second position with 25 games lost.
An interesting game for Erie Bay Hawks (21-27) which played road game in Portland against their close opponent Maine Red Claws (19-28). Fourth ranked Erie Bay Hawks had an easy win 119-98. It was an exceptional evening for Anthony Barber who led the winners and scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. PJ Dozier came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for Maine Red Claws in the defeat. Maine Red Claws' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Erie Bay Hawks maintains fourth place with 21-27 record, which they share with Canton C. and South Bay L. Loser Maine Red Claws keep the fourth position with 28 games lost. They share it with Delaware BC. Erie Bay Hawks will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maine Red Claws will play against Knicks (#3) in Westchester and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



Capital City Go-Go - Santa Cruz W. 116-120

An interesting game for Warriors (32-15) which played road game in Washington against second-best Capital City Go-Go (24-25). First ranked Warriors managed to get a 4-point victory 120-116. Warriors players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Capital City Go-Go's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Damion Lee (198-92, college: Louisville) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Mexican-American forward Juan Toscano (198-93, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 3 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Warriors' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Jordan McRae (197-91, college: Tennessee) with 32 points and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Tyler Lydon (203-96, college: Syracuse) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Four Warriors and five Capital City Go-Go players scored in double figures. Warriors maintains first place with 32-15 record. Newly promoted Capital City Go-Go keeps the second position with 25 games lost.
