The most exciting game of day 74 in the NBA G League took place in Salt Lake City. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Salt Lake City Stars (14-14) to third ranked Clippers (14-13) 114-113 on Thursday evening. Clippers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Clippers made 7 blocks. Dominican forward Angel Delgado (206-94, college: Seton Hall) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and guard Anfernee Simons (193-99) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Guard Isaiah Cousins (193-94, college: Oklahoma) responded with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Clippers maintains third position with 14-13 record having just three points less than leader Windy City B. Salt Lake City Stars at the other side keep the second place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Ft.Wayne MA. Clippers will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salt Lake City Stars will play at home against the league's leader Long Island Nets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fourth-ranked Wolves (9-22) gave a tough game to second ranked Kings (17-11) in Des Moines. The visitors from Stockton managed to secure only three-point victory 120-117. However their fans expected easier game. Guard Marcus Williams (191-85, college: Connecticut) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and Troy Williams supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds by guard Brandon Goodwin (188-95, college: FGCU) did not help to save the game for Wolves. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kings maintains second position with 17-11 record having just one point less than leader Windy City B., which they share with Raptors 905. Wolves lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 22 games lost. Kings will play against league's leader Warriors in Bismarck in the next day and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wolves will play on the road against Lakers in Los Angeles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
