Southwestern Christian University came from behind to topple Arlington Baptist (Texas) 83-73 on Homecoming Saturday at Pickens-Springer Gymnasium. The Eagles (2-0) never led until the 15:40 mark of the second half when they reeled off a 10-0 run and took a 57-49 advantage. SCU led by as many 17 on its way to a second consecutive victory. The Eagles turned the Patriots over 35 times on the evening and scored 31 points off of turnovers. The SCU defense held Arlington Baptist to 39 percent shooting from the field and 23 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Anthony Thomas (6'1''-G) paced the Eagles with 14 points on 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Thomas added two assists and two rebounds to his stat line. Darius Madkin and Patrick White followed with 11 points apiece. White finished with six rebounds while Madkin grabbed five boards. The trio of Donovan Daniels (6'2''-G), Jack Fritsche (6'7''-G/F-96) and Michael McBean each scored nine points. Fritsche also snagged four rebounds while McBean passed out three assists. Beau Archer (6'2''-G) finished with seven points and Jericho Avery (6'5''-F) added six. SCU will return to action in the Haskell Basketball Classic on Nov. 9-10 in Lawrence, Kan.

Zach Hurth has been named an assistant men's basketball coach at Ohio Northern University. He comes to ONU after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Trine (ind.) in 2018-19.
