Jimmy Hill
Walla Walla University Athletics announced that Wolves men's basketball coach Jimmy Hill has announced his resignation, effective immediately. 'I would like to thank all the players and families that I've worked with over these 11 years for their trust, support, love and effort and have been very privileged to have been around such fine young men and amazing families,' said Hill. 'I have been blessed with amazing assistant coaches, athletic directors and fellow coaches and student athletes from other sports during my time here and consider myself lucky to call them friends. I wish them the best and hope changes can be made and positives can come from this negative that will allow others to be successful in the future. I'd also like to thank all the coaches we have competed against over the years for their friendship, help and support and professionalism, it has been an honor to compete against them for these 11 years.' Hills tenure comes to a close after 10 seasons at Walla Walla University. In 2013-14, Hill recorded his best season at WWU, as the Wolves went on a 9-game winning streak and finished with an 11-18 record, earning him the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Additionally, Hill won four WWU Coach of the Year Awards (2005, 2006, 2011, and 2013). 'I have gotten to know Coach Hill over my first few months here at WWU and I appreciate his passion for the men's basketball program and the entire athletic department,' said Director of Athletics Eric Cantrell. 'He was always positive and looking for new ways to make the program better. Coach Hill has been the face of the WWU men's basketball program and it is always tough when you lose a coach like him. We hope to build off of what Coach Hill started here. I wish Coach Hill the best in whatever he decides to do and want him to know he will always be welcomed in the WWU athletic family.' The Wolves are currently looking for a replacement coach for the 2019-2020 season.
