Florida Spartans have stated they will looking into other avenues for their players to compete at a high level and have announced they will be participating in the TBT (The Basketball Tournament) in 2016. So the players which will be chosen to come to training camp and have an opportunity to participate during the season, will also have a chance (should they be good enough) to play in the TBT as well as looking to get a chance to go to the Las Vegas Summer League. "We want our players to have opportunity everywhere and not just focus on playing for the team in a league" said Coach Mireles. "But the players we choose are not players that are just here to play, the players that are chosen to be here, are here to get solid contracts in the D-League and higher level International teams in Europe". The team continues to search for players as others just have not had what it takes to get signed. This team has a process and if it can find some QUALITY players with some veteran style leadership, then the team can build on it. The problem with today's players market, many players feel that they deserve a chance but do not want to put in the work in to get it. "We tell our players that is takes dedication, commitment and sacrifice" said Mireles. "Its just unfortunate that many players do not have the heart or the drive to fulfill their obligations as an athlete and expect something for nothing". The Spartans continue their search for some solid players looking for a solid opportunity as this is one of the very few teams that actually look to help players with their careers and not just have them here to play basketball on a team. Contact Coach Mireles for questions and if interested. 727-645-9796
