ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis RiverSharks used a huge game from Bruce Massey (6'3''-G-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) and a closing burst from Jaylen Fulton (6'1''-G, college: St.Louis CC) to put away the Gateway Steam 108-100 at Emerson Performance Center Wednesday, getting their record back over the .500 mark for the first time since February 21.

The RiverSharks jumped out to an early lead, not letting the Steam score until the 7:12 mark of the first quarter. St. Louis led by ten before Gateway cut the lead to 23-16 at the end of the first.

St. Louis led throughout the second quarter, but with one minute left before the half, Anthony Jones tied the game at 43, and then with :31.7 remaining, Bryant Allen (6'0''-PG-90, college: Illinois St.) hit his third three-pointer in just under two-and-a-half minutes to give the Steam a 46-43 lead at the break.

The Steam then began to build up a cushion, opening up a nine-point lead with 4:04 remaining in the third quarter on a tip-in by Connell Crossland (6'7''-F-91, college: TCU). But the RiverSharks roared back, and got to within two at 75-73 on a Jaylen Fulton basket with :24.9 left in the quarter.

Another three by Bryant Allen got the lead back to five to open the fourth, but St. Louis went on an 8-0 run to grab the lead 83-80 with 9:09 to play. The teams exchanged the lead until the 5:22 mark, when Bruce Massey put St. Louis up 90-89. The RiverSharks would not trail again, as Jaylen Fulton scored ten points over the final 4:30 to put the game away.

Massey scored 34 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for St. Louis (5-4), while Justin Bocot scored 19, Fulton added 16, and Steve Roper pitched in ten. Aaron Williams scored nine and pulled down ten rebounds for the RiverSharks.

Connell Crossland led Gateway (3-6) with 22 points. Bryant Allen finished with 18 on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range, and Anthony Goode added 15.
