The Cedar Valley CourtKings wrapped up their 2018 regular season with a 119-116 win over the Minnesota Lakers Sunday in Midwest Basketball League action. The victory caps off a 15-1 regular season for the two-time defending MBL champions who are now off until July 27th when the CourtKings will appear in the MBL playoffs against an opponent yet to be determined in St. Cloud. Sunday, Brady Burford (6'6''-PF-91, college: William Penn) led the way with 29 points mwhile Aundre Hicks (6'2''-PG-88) had 26 and both Marcus Smith (6'0''-G-92, college: Penn St-Beaver) and Anthony James chipped in 20. The game was tied at 116 with 30 seconds left before Burford hit a 3-pointer for the game winner with 22 seconds. On Saturday in Rochester, Minn., the CourtKings topped the Rochester Roadrunners, 126-106. Mac Johnson led Cedar Valley with 27, while Burford had 26.

After five weeks of play in the 26-team Midwest Basketball League just four teams remain unbeaten. With the regular season extending until the end of June there is plenty of time for playoff positions to be won. Fort Wayne Ballers move to 5-0 - 24 days ago
The Fort Wayne Bubba Ballers have been running through the MBL East Division as of late posting a perfect 5-0 record. On Saturday the Ballers made the trip down to Muncie to take on the Indiana Dream. In what was suppose to be a close game Fort Wayne used a balanced attack to send the Dream in lala land with a 127-109 rout.
