Top Salt Lake Community College alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bruins alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Sinan Guler (6'4''-G-83, played in 2002-04, plays pro in Turkey) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Tofas (15-7) crushing them 89-56 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night. He recorded 9 points and had 3 steals in 21 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Fenerbahce Istanbul (22-3) is placed first in the BSL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Guler averages 4.7ppg, 1.9rpg and 2.1apg.

   #2. Marcus White (6'6''-G/F-95, played in 2014-16, plays in Finland) led LoKoKo Bisons to a victory over the fourth-ranked HNMKY (10-8) crushing them 108-70 in the Finnish 1st Division (second division) in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. White scored 30 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. LoKoKo Bisons Loimaa (15-7) is placed second in Division A. It's White's first year with the team. White has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 22.9ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.5apg and 1.8spg in 26 games he played so far.

   #3. Agustin Ambrosino (6'8''-C/F-90, played in 2011-12, currently in Argentina) contributed to an Argentino's surprising victory against the tenth-ranked San Martin Corrientes (12-12) 88-71 in the Argentinian La Liga last Monday. Ambrosino recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. Argentino Junin (7-20) is placed 18th in the La Liga. This season Ambrosino averages 7.4ppg and 6.2rpg. He has also Argentinian citizenship. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #4. Gary Payton II (6'3''-G-92, played in 2012-14, plays pro in the NBA G League) contributed to an easy victory against the Memphis Hustle (28-22) 135-118 in the NBA G League on Friday night. Payton II scored 9 points, grabbed 7 boards, handed out 6 passes and blocked 2 shots. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group W Southwest. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers have a solid 34-16 record this season. Payton II has very impressive stats this year 15.8ppg, 7.3rpg, 6.5apg and 2.9spg in 27 games.

   #5. Yi-Hsiang Chou (6'3''-G-91, graduated '17, plays in China) contributed to a Xinjiang Flying Tigers' victory against the closely-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (31-15) 139-125 in the Chinese CBA in Thursday night's game. He scored 6 points in 17 minutes. Xinjiang Flying Tigers (33-13) are placed fourth in the CBA. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This season Chou averages 4.9ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.2apg.

   #6. Austin Waddoups (6'2''-PG-93, graduated '16, currently in Denmark), who plays in the Danish BasketLigaen could not help Wolfpack/BMS (7-15) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Wolfpack/BMS was crushed 99-75 at home by the lower-ranked (#7) Horsens IC in the ProB group. Waddoups was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 passes. Waddoups has relatively good stats this year 14.4ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.1apg in 24 games.

   #7. Tyler Rawson (6'10''-PF-96, played in 2015-16, plays pro in Spain) was not able to help FC Barcelona Lassa II (9-20) in their game last Friday. Despite Rawson's good performance FC Barcelona Lassa II was defeated 58-49 on the road by the higher-ranked Leyma Basquet (#13). He was the top scorer with 13 points. Rawson also added 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. This season Rawson averages 10.0ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg.

   #8. De'Sean Parsons (6'7''-F, played in 2014-15, plays in Armenia) was the main contributor in Aragatz's victory against the closely-ranked Artik 92-90 in the Armenian League A in Thursday night's game. Parsons was MVP of the game. He scored 27 points (!!!), had 9 boards, passed 4 assists and added 3 steals. Parsons has very impressive stats this year 29.1ppg, 12.4rpg, 5.1apg and 3.1spg in nine games.
