Best performed former McLennan Community College players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Highlanders players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Taylor Smith (6'7''-F/C-91, played in 2009-11, plays pro in France) led BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral to a victory against the 15th-ranked Le Portel (6-14) 87-82 in the French Jeep ELITE last Friday. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds. Smith also added 3 blocks in 38 minutes. BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral (12-8) is placed fourth in the Jeep ELITE. This year Smith averages 9.4ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5bpg in 20 games he played so far.

   #2. Zach Charles (6'7''-F-95, played in 2014-16, plays in Denmark) could not help Svendborg (12-7) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Charles' good performance the third-placed Svendborg (12-7) was edged 72-69 at home by the lower-ranked Randers (#5) in the ProA group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 15 rebounds. Charles also added and 3 steals. Charles has relatively good stats this season 11.5ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.3apg.

   #3. Aundre Jackson (6'5''-F-95, played in 2014-16, currently in Iceland) was the major contributor in Skallagrimur's victory against the closely-ranked Haukar (6-14) 80-79 in the Icelandic Dominos League in Monday night's game. Jackson had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds in 38 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. U.M.F. Skallagrimur Borganes (6-13) is placed sixth in the Dominos League. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Jackson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.8ppg, 8.6rpg and 2.2apg in 18 games.

   #4. Shawn Prudhomme (6'4''-F-94, played in 2013-14, plays pro in Luxembourg) was not able to help Soleuvre (6-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the seventh-placed Soleuvre (6-8) was badly defeated 109-90 on the road by the higher-ranked Residence (#4) in the Places 7-14 group. Prudhomme recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 10 rebounds. It was his first game for Soleuvre this season.

   #5. Deondre Ray (6'5''-SF, played in 2013-14, plays in Romania) was not able to secure a victory for Constanta (0-4) in their game against Phoenix Galati (2-2) in the Romanian Liga Nationala. He recorded only 4 points in 11 minutes. The fifth-placed Constanta (0-4) was badly defeated 79-62 on their home court in Constanta by the higher-ranked (#4) Phoenix Galati in the Group Yellow. So far Constanta lost all four games in the Second Stage. It's Ray's first season with the team. Ray has relatively good stats this year 14.9ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.6apg in 14 games.

   #6. Wayne Langston (6'7''-F-93, played in 2013-14, currently in Israel) contributed to a Maccabi Raanana's victory against the 12th-ranked Hasharon 95-84 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Langston scored 12 points, made 5 passes and 4 steals. This season he has very high stats. Langston averages 17.5ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg.

   #7. Jerran Young (6'6''-G-91, played in 2010-12, plays pro in Singapore) led his Singapore team Singapore Slingers to a victory over the closely-ranked Saigon Heat 76-70 in the ASEAN League last Sunday. Young was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. Young also added 3 blocks in 37 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 17.5ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg in 17 games.
