Best performed former South Plains College players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Texans alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Yanick Moreira (6'11''-C-91, played in 2011-12, plays pro in Italy) could not help Virtus Bologna (9-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance the first-placed Virtus Bologna (9-4) was edged 83-80 on the road by the lower-ranked (#6) SIG Strasbourg in the group D of Basketball Champions League. Moreira recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 28 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Moreira averages 6.7ppg and 4.3rpg in three games he played so far.

   #2. David Kadiri (6'7''-F-95, played in 2014-15, plays in Serbia) was the major contributor in a 1-point Sloboda Uzice's victory against the closely-ranked Novi Pazar (13-4) 99-98 in the Serbian KLS on Sunday night. He scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Kadiri's second season in pro basketball. KK Sloboda Uzice (10-8) is placed fifth in the KLS. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Kadiri's first year with the team. This season he averages 8.9ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg. Kadiri is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #3. Stanton Kidd (6'8''-F-92, played in 2011-12, currently in Turkey) contributed to Darussafaka's surprising victory against the eighth-ranked Baskonia (10-11) 80-75 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Kidd scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. Darussafaka Istanbul (3-18) is located at the very bottom in the Euroleague. This year Kidd averages 6.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.3apg in 21 games.

   #4. Anthony Walker (6'9''-F-93, played in 2011-12, plays pro in the NBA G League) led Stockton Kings to an easy victory against the Austin Spurs (14-19) 132-116 in the NBA G League last Sunday. Walker scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 5 blocks. The Stockton Kings have a solid 19-12 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Walker averages 4.2ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.2bpg.

   #5. Emmanuel Omogbo (6'8''-F-95, played in 2013-15, plays in Lithuania) managed to help Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys in a victory against the closely-ranked Prienu Skycop (7-13) 91-82 in the Lithuanian LKL on Sunday night. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 12 minutes. Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys (11-9) is placed fifth in the LKL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Omogbo's first season with the team. Omogbo has relatively good stats this year 12.1ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.6spg in 16 games. He is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #6. Che Bob (6'6''-G-97, played in 2015-16, currently in Brazil) contributed to a 3-point Minas Belo Horizonte's victory against the closely-ranked Paulistano 88-85 in the Brazilian NBB in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 6 points. This season Bob averages 8.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1apg.

   #7. Ryan Martin (6'9''-F-91, played in 2013-14, plays pro in Denmark) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Joensuun Kataja crushing them 102-58 in the FIBA Europe Cup last Wednesday. Martin scored only 2 points in 6 minutes on the court. This year he averages 9.1ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg in 11 games. Martin has also British citizenship.

   #8. Deshaunt Walker (5'11''-PG-91, played in 2011-12, plays in Canada) was not able to help the Cape Breton Highlanders in their game against the Sudbury Five in the NBL Canada. Despite his very good performance last Friday He was the top scorer with 25 points. This season Walker averages 9.1ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg.

   #9. Luis David Montero (6'8''-SG-93, graduated '15, currently in Mexico) was not able to secure a victory for Capitanes in their game against Vivo/Franca in the LNBP. He scored 7 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals in 20 minutes. His team lost 86-94. This year Montero averages 9.1ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg in 11 games.

   #10. Andre Spight (6'3''-G-95, played in 2013-15, plays pro in the NBA G League) contributed to a Wisconsin Herd's victory against the Erie Bay Hawks 119-115 in the NBA G League last Sunday. He scored 10 points. This season Spight averages 6.7ppg. He is a naturalized Armenian.
