Falling down 8-0 to start the game, the home team couldnot shake their opponent trailing 31-26 at the end of 12 minutes. Portland scored the first eight points of the second frame. When David Lucas ,6-8 forward from Oregon State, hit a three pointer a few minutes in the Chinooks had their first lead,34-31. Numerous ties followed over the coming minutes before the Sabres went on a 22-4 run to close the half. The Chinooks widdled the deficit to three midway through the third. Salem pushed it to nine early in the fourth before Portland wiped it all away with a 9-0 advantange to send things to a time out at 99, two Chinooks huddled around coach Trevor Kiser accompanied by owner Terry Emmert minutes in. Halfway through the period the game was still tied a 110 before the Sabres roared back with a 12-2 run to leave town with their first win of the season.
