Basketball has always been an expression of joy for Toronto native Nakissa Koomalsingh (5'4''-G) but as she prepares to kick off the third season of the grassroots women’s league she spearheads, there’s a feeling of gratitude.
That’s partly because for the first time ever a WNBA team is going to be based in Toronto and will start competing in 2026, something she and other women could only dream of when they were younger.
