Offseason continues with good news to share after Canada was announced as the first team selected. The second club to be selected on the MCC 2019 roster - the Flint Lady Monarchs from the USA!

The American club will be managed by Monarchs president Drey Wynn. Wynn has been the biggest promoter of the great play of reigning GWBA Champion Lint Lady Monarchs. "We are very excited to be apart of such a great international event", said Wynn. We are coming to win a championship and prove our ladies belong.

Headlining the Monarchs roster is former WNBA draftee Crystal Bradford (6'0''-F-93, college: Cent.Michigan). Bradford was drafted by the LA Sparks in the 2nd Round of the 2015 WNBA Draft. She caught the eye of the WNBA after a hall of famer career at Central Michigan. The two time AP All-American averaged over 20 points per game back to back season before starting her professional career. Sharing the front court with Bradford is fellow college standout Brandie Baker (6'2''-F-90, college: Cent.Michigan). Baker also spent the 2015 season with the LA Sparks before taking her talent to Spain. Jasmine Thomas (5'9''-G-91, college: Michigan St.) will headline the backcourt this summer for the Monarchs. Thomas attended Michigan State University before taking her talents to Europe. This season she will star in Germany.

"We pride ourselves on signing the best teams each summer from the states ", said Mediterranean President Christophe Fourcade. This roster has the same amount of talent as the GIE Lady Matrix of 2016; so after seeing such a power lineup it was a no brainier. We believe this tournament helps EU clubs improve players and also helps scouting. It will always be our honor to host this event in Toulouse.

The Flint Lady Monarchs are the first American cup selected this season. The US minor league club play in the GWBA for the last three seasons. The Monarchs are the 2018 GWAB Champions but also holders of every title in the leagues history.

Liga Mediterranean Cup Past Champions:
2016 - GIE Lady Matrix - MVP (Denesha Stallworth (6'3''-F-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management))
2017 - GIE Lady Matrix - MVP (Kristina King (5'11''-G-92, college: Richmond))
2018 - Chabibeh Sporting Club - MVP (Asia Logan (6'1''-F-92, college: Pittsburgh))
