Arlesia Morse (5'10''-G-93, college: Marquette) had 22 points and seven rebounds for the Flint Monarchs in a 99-62 victory over the Chicago Breeze at the Dort Federal Event Center. Morse, a former Flint Hamady All-Stater, leads the Women's Global Basketball Association in scoring at 20.9 points per game and is the reigning Player of the Week. The victory avenged Flint's only setback of the season, a 77-76 road loss last month, and kept the Monarchs in first place with a 6-1 record. Second-place Chicago is two games behind the Monarchs. Flint took control by jumping out to a 29-6 first-quarter lead. Nya Jordan (6'0''-F-91, college: Michigan) added 18 points for the Monarchs, Jasmine McCall (5'6''-G-87, college: Wayne St., MI) had 17 to go with five rebounds and five assists, and Jasmine Thomas chipped in 13 points, three steals and two blocks. Ariel Easton scored 23 to lead Chicago The Monarchs return to action at 4 p.m. Friday against the Indianapolis Bandits (1-4) at Dort Federal.
