The PrimeTime Players were off on Saturday afternoon but there was still basketball being played at the historic Banks Street Gym in Fort Mill as the Augusta Eagles took on the Charlotte Tribe and Carolina Crusaders battles the Fayetteville Panthers.

Augusta Eagles 117 Charlotte Tribe 113
The first game of the day was #4 Augusta Eagles against #5 Charlotte Tribe with both teams having split during the regular season and no clear favorite in this match up. The Tribe jumped out the gates quick by pushing the pace every play and playing solid defense as they were able to open up a 33-26 and had all 8 players score during the quarter. The second quarter started the same way with Jalen Vince (6'1''-G-94, college: William Peace) and Keandre Marion (6'0''-PG) combining for 19pts in the quarters as the took a 61-43 lead and looked as if they would run away with the win, but over the last four minutes the Eagles out scored Charlotte 29-8 to cut the lead down to only 69-62 for Charlotte. Augusta stayed within striking distance in the 3rd and going into the 4th quarter the Tribe still held a lead but only by 2 points and at the media timeout in the 4th the Tribe lead 104-100 and still had not giving up the lead on the day. Guards James Murray and Chaz Cason (F) for Charlotte both had combining for 29pts and for most of the second half held Augusta off but over the last 4 minutes of the game Travon McGruder (6'6''-C/F, college: Albany St.) was able to control the paint on both the offensive and defensive end scoring 10pts down the stretch as they were able to take there 1st lead with three minutes to go and with strong defense pulled out a hard fought win over the Charlotte Tribe 117-114

Carolina Crusaders 115 Fayetteville Panthers 101
The scoring of the game doesn't reflect the battle that these two teams put on for 4 quarters of back and forth basketball between the #3 seeded Carolina Crusaders and #6 seed Fayetteville Panthers. The Panthers opened the game off knocking down everything in the first quarter being led by ECBL All-Star Steven Williams (6'2''-G) who had 11pts in the 1st quarter as the took a 32-18 lead going into the 2nd quarter. The second quarter not much changed as the Panthers controlled the game with the tempo and by controlling the boards on both ends and Shian Bradshaw (6'5''-F, college: Wake Tech CC) had a big quarter scoring 11 of his 22pts in the quarter and at the half the Panthers led 53-44. The third quarter the teams played even in the quarter but Anton Greer showed up for Crusaders and scored 15 in the quarter including 14 in a row at one point, but Fayetteville was showing no signs of releasing the lead and held a 80-72 lead going into the 4th. The forth quarter was the Dhonte Ford (5'10''-PG, college: Allen) and Ivan Vernon (6'0''-PG) show for the Crusaders as they were able to help chip away at the lead and give the Crusaders the first lead of the game at 91-90 at the 7 minute mark and over the last four minutes of the game they combined for 20 of the Crusaders 35 fourth quarter points as they out scored the Panthers 35-11 to close the game out and advance to take on rival Carolina Thunder at 3:00 on Sunday.
