The PrimeTime Players returned home after being handed their first loss in two seasons at the hands on the NC Coyotes last weekend on the road in Raleigh. The match up was broadcasted live on local radio and was also telecasts on Netcast Sports Network in one of the most anticipated games in the ECBL four year history with the Carolina Crusaders coming into the game as the lone remaining undefeated team in the ECBL at 9-0. The host PrimeTime Players opened up a early lead with Jaime Vaughn (6'1''-SG, college: Wingate) and PJ Heath combining for 12 of the first 16 points of the game as PrimeTime where able to open up a early double figure lead. The Crusaders took a early time out to try and slow down the PrimeTime Players but after the time out Sean Barnettte scored 13 of his game high 36 in the quarter as PrimeTime opened a 36-19 lead at the end of one. The second quarter Terell Smith knocked down four three pointers in the quarter and PrimeTime was able to push the lead up to 28pts and newcomer Curtis Withers helped limit the Crusaders to one shot with his presence inside where he was able to pull down 18 first half rebounds including 15 defensive rebounds. The Crusaders closed the half out with a 11-2 run led by Sean Kennedy (6'2''-G-79, college: Marist) who scored 9 of his 16 over the last two minutes to cut the halftime lead to 67-49 at the half. The second half the Crusaders came out strong going on a 14-5 run to cut the lead down to 72-63 after back to back three pointers from Anton Grier but as quick as the cut the lead down PrimeTime were able to push the lead back up to 19 and held the Crusaders off through the forth quarter to come away with a 132-115 win. The win gives PrimeTime a half game lead in the playoff race with two games to go for both teams.
