The East Coast Basketball League is pleased to announce the addition of the Lumberton Showstoppers to the 2017 lineup. The ShowStoppers are owned by Garrett Locklear who is very familiar with minor league basketball in the southern region having played and coached the ShowStoppers over the last two seasons in the TRBL.

"Overall, I feel like this is the best fit for my organization and what I have going on," said Locklear. "With the season starting in March it gives us plenty of time to build a championship level team to compete against some of the best teams in minor league basketball. We are proud to be members and looking forward to being a big part of Team ECBL."

Commissioner Lee Williams also commented, "Over the last two seasons we have followed the ShowStoppers growth and are always interested in teams that understand the importance of the guidelines we use in the ECBL. We are looking to add teams we are sure will do everything possible to ensure a professionally-operated basketball organization."
