Bayern may sign Xavier Rathan-Mayes

FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball (BBL) is close to signing 31-year-old Canadian ex-international guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (191cm-86kg-1994, college: FSU) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He last played for Real Madrid in Spain, where he averaged 4.7ppg, 1.0rpg, and 1.3apg in 29 Liga Endesa games last season. Rathan-Mayes helped Real Madrid win the league title and reach the Supercup final. He also played 23 games in the Euroleague, averaging 5.3ppg and 1.4apg, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. In the previous 2023-24 season, he played for BC Enisey Krasnoyarsk in the Russian league.
He was also a member of the Canadian international program for a few years. Rathan-Mayes played for the Canadian Senior National Team in 2017 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2013.
He is quite an experienced player. Rathan-Mayes has played in twelve different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia, and North America). He has played professionally in Australia (Hawks), Greece (AEK Betsson), Israel (Bnei Rathan-Mayesrtzeliya), Romania (Sibiu), Russia, Turkey (Merkezefendi), NBA (NY Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies), NBA G League (Texas Legends, Westchester Knicks, and San Diego Clippers), Canada (Honey Badgers and Shooting Stars), The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete and YGC), and NBA Summer League (Washington Wizards).
Among many awards, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Newcomer of the Year in 2024.
He graduated from Florida State University in 2017 and it'll be his ninth season as a pro player.
