Here is the weekly review of the top performing Canadian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton, currently plays in Italy). He was the major contributor in a Banco di Srd's victory against the league leader Armani Milano (23-7) 112-101 in the Italian Serie A in Friday night's game. Pierre scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 35 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (18-12) is placed fourth in the Serie A. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. Pierre has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 55.3%(89-161), 3FGP: 54.0%(34-63) and FT: 82.5% in 32 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Canadian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international center Joel Anthony (206-82, college: UNLV, currently plays in Argentina). He could not help San Lorenzo (32-6) in their last game. Despite Anthony's good performance the league leader San Lorenzo lost 94-99 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#8) Boca Juniors. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 13 rebounds. Anthony also added 4 blocks in 29 minutes. This year Anthony averages: 8.1ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 61.2%(134-219) and FT: 61.0% in 41 games. He is in the roster of the Canadian senior national team.

   #3. The Canadian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain). Wiltjer contributed to an Unicaja Malaga's victory against the fourth-ranked Valencia Basket (23-11) 85-78 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Friday night's game. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Unicaja Malagais placed in the Liga Endesa. This season Wiltjer has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 2FGP: 54.5%, 3FGP: 43.0% and FT: 78.6%. He is also a member of the Canadian senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Kevin Pangos (185-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Joventut (18-16) crushing them 87-61 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Friday. Pangos recorded 8 points in 22 minutes. FC Barcelona Lassa (27-7) is placed third in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Pangos' overall stats are: 8.1ppg, 1.6rpg and 3.2apg in 36 games. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Slovenian. Pangos is also Canadian national team player.

   #5. International forward Conor Morgan (206-94, college: UBC, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Joventut in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance his team was crushed 107-86 at home by the lower-ranked FC Barcelona (#3). Morgan scored 11 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. It's Morgan's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 6.3ppg and 2.8rpg. Morgan is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Irish. He plays currently for the Canadian national team.

Forward Melvin Ejim (201-91, college: Iowa St., currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to secure a victory for Unics Kazan (21-5) in their game against Khimki (20-6) in the VTB United League. Ejim scored 8 points (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Unics Kazan was crushed 91-64 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Khimki (#3). Ejim's total stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.5apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Canadian National Team roster.

   #7. International guard Philip Scrubb (191-92, college: Carleton, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help Zenit (15-11) in their game against CSKA (22-4) in the VTB United League. Scrubb scored 6 points in 17 minutes. Zenit was edged 69-68 on their home court in Sankt Petersburg by the leading CSKA. It was Zenit's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Scrubb's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.7apg in 33 games. He is also Canadian national team player.

Power forward Stefan Jankovic (211-93, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Serbia) managed to help BC Partizan NiS Beograd to win against the second-ranked FMP (8-3) 93-75 in a derby game in the Serbian KLS in Monday night's game. Jankovic recorded only 3 points. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group B. BC Partizan NiS Beograd (11-0) is placed first. So far his team won all eleven games in the Semifinals. They will play only one more game in the Semifinals. And that game will be critical. Jankovic has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Canadian U19 national team back in 2011.

Former international forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Carleton, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Kyle Wiltjer in the Spanish Liga Endesa last game. Doornekamp couldn't help Valencia Basket in their game against Unicaja Malaga (21-13). He cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. Doornekamp recorded only 3 points in 15 minutes. his team lost 78-85 in Malaga to the lower-ranked (#5) Unicaja. Doornekamp has averaged so far 5.3ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg in 36 games. He used to play for the Canadian national team four years ago.

Guard Caleb Agada (193-94, agency: DMG Sports, college: Ottawa, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Melilla Baloncesto (21-13) in their game against RETAbet BB (24-10) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Agada was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Agada has reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.5apg and 2.4spg. He is a former university international player as four years ago he still played for the Canadian national team.

   #11. Former University international guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points, college: Ottawa, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Zaragoza's victory against the eighth-ranked Baskonia 76-69 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Berhanemeskel scored 5 points in 11 minutes. Berhanemeskel has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.5apg in 36 games. He used to play for the Canadian university national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Canadian passport but never been selected to any of Canadian national teams:

   #1. Matthew Wright (193-G-91, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Philippines) led Phoenix to a surprising victory over the league leader Blackwater Elite (4-1) 103-98 in the Filipino PBA last Friday. Wright was MVP of the game. He scored 22 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Phoenix Fuel Masters (1-1) are placed seventh in the PBA. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Wright has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 21.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.5apg and 2.0spg. Wright has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Filipino.

   #2. Maurice Walker (208-C-91, college: Minnesota, currently plays in France) could not help SO Maritime Boulogne (7-11) in their last game. Despite Walker's very good performance the eighth-placed SO Maritime Boulogne (7-11) lost 62-72 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Saint-Quentin in the Places 1-10 group. He had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 13 rebounds in 23 minutes. It was SO Maritime Boulogne's first loss after four consecutive victories. This year Walker's total stats are: 8.9ppg and 5.8rpg in 18 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and British.

   #3. Norbert Torres (198-F-90, currently plays in Philippines) was not able to help Rain or Shine in their game against Blackwater Elite (4-1) in the Filipino PBA. Torres scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Rain or Shine were defeated 98-92 at home by the leading Blackwater Elite. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Torres has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 4.0rpg. He has both Canadian and Filipino nationalities.

   #4. Liam McMorrow (218-C-87, agency: Slash Sports, college: Tenn Tech, currently plays in China) was not able to secure a victory for Hunan (4-3) in their last game. Despite McMorrow's very good performance Hunan lost 121-126 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#4) Henan. He scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. McMorrow averaged so far 13.6ppg, 11.7rpg, 1.3apg and 1.4bpg in seven games.

   #5. Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Hungary) couldn't help PVSK-Veolia (18-16) in their game against Kormend (25-9) in the Hungarian A Division. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Wright recorded only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The fourth-placed PVSK-Veolia (18-16) was defeated 88-75 on their home court in Pecs by the leading Kormend in the Places 1-5 group. Wright has averaged so far 5.1ppg and 3.5rpg.

   #6. Will Hickey (183-PG, currently plays in Australia) led Tigers to a victory against the 14th-ranked Bandits 104-91 in the Australian State League (second division) last Sunday. He scored 15 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 22 minutes. Hickey has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.9apg in 12 games.

   #7. Paul Campbell (208-F/C-87, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Australia) couldn't help NW Tasmania Thunder (5-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the 11th-placed NW Tasmania Thunder was defeated 94-85 in Geelong by the much higher-ranked Supercats (#3) in the NBL1 group. Campbell recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds. Campbell averaged so far 11.0ppg and 7.8rpg.

   #8. Aleksandar Danilovic (202-F-93, currently plays in Portugal) couldn't help Ovarense in their game against Oliveirense in the Portuguese LPB. He cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. Danilovic scored only 2 points in 13 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 20 points 93-73. Danilovic averaged so far 11.5ppg and 4.8rpg in 36 games. He also holds two passports: Canadian and Serbian.

   #9. Ryan Bennett (193-G, college: Brock, currently plays in Australia) couldn't help Vikings in their game against Hume City Broncos in the Australian State League (second division). Despite his very good performance last Saturday Bennett was the top scorer with 26 points. This season Bennett has very high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.3apg.
