We bring you last week's top performances from Canadians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former U19 international power forward Stefan Jankovic (211-93, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Serbia). He led Partizan to a victory over the third-ranked Dynamic VP (4-5) crushing them 91-62 in a derby game in the Serbian KLS in Thursday night's game. Jankovic was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Jankovic's third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group B. BC Partizan NiS Beograd (9-0) is placed first. So far his team won all nine games in the Second Stage. They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And that game will be critical. It's Jankovic's first year with the team. This season he averages: 8.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 40.7%, 3FGP: 32.1% and FT: 71.4% in seven games he played so far. Jankovic played for the Canadian U19 national team eight years ago.

Dyshawn Pierre

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton, currently plays in Italy). He contributed to a Banco di Srd's victory against the closely-ranked Happy Casa BR (18-12) 106-97 in the Italian Serie A last Monday. Pierre recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 4 assists; not bad, considering it's only Pierre's third season in pro basketball. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (18-12) is placed fourth in the Serie A. It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. Pierre has relatively good stats this season: 10.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 56.2%(77-137), 3FGP: 54.4%(31-57) and FT: 83.6%. He is in the roster of the Canadian senior national team.

   #3. The Canadian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international center Joel Anthony (206-82, college: UNLV, currently plays in Argentina). Anthony was the major contributor in a San Lorenzo's victory against the 16th-ranked Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos (15-23) 93-83 in the Argentinian La Liga on Tuesday night. He scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. San Lorenzo de Almagra (32-6) is placed first in the La Liga. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Anthony's overall stats are: 8.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 63.0%(126-200) and FT: 62.6% in 38 games. He is also a member of the Canadian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Melvin Ejim (201-91, college: Iowa St., currently plays in VTB United League) could not help Unics Kazan (21-5) in their last game on Friday. Despite Ejim's very good performance Unics Kazan was defeated 103-98 on the road by the lower-ranked Khimki (#3). He scored 18 points and added 4 passes. Ejim's total stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.5apg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Nigerian. Ejim is also Canadian national team player.

International point guard Kevin Pangos (185-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain) helped FC Barcelona win their game against the 15th-ranked Blusens Monbus (11-23) crushing them 83-63 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He recorded 8 points and added 3 passes in 20 minutes. FC Barcelona Lassa (27-7) is placed third in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Pangos' first season with the team. This year Pangos' total stats are: 8.2ppg, 1.6rpg and 3.2apg in 34 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Slovenian. Pangos plays currently for the Canadian national team.

Forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Carleton, currently plays in Spain) helped Valencia Basket win their game against the eighth-ranked Baskonia (13-9) 92-81 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He recorded 11 points. Valencia Basketis placed in the Liga Endesa. Doornekamp has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.4apg. He is a former international player as he played for the Canadian senior team four years ago.

International point guard Kaza Kajami-Keane (185-94, also represented by Interperformances, college: Carleton, currently plays in Holland) helped Zwolle win their game against the closely-ranked Groningen (22-12) 84-70 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Sunday night's game. Kajami-Keane scored 16 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 28 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Landstede Basketbal Zwolle (28-6) is placed second in the Eredivisie. Kajami-Keane has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.1ppg, 5.6rpg, 4.4apg and 2.8spg in 42 games. Kajami-Keane is also Canadian national team player.

   #8. Guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, agency: Wasserman, college: Boston Coll., currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Telekom Baskets (18-16) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Telekom Baskets was defeated 97-87 in Oldenburg by the second-ranked EWE Baskets. Hanlan was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds. Hanlan has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Canadian national team back in 2017.

International forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain) helped Unicaja Malaga win their game against the tenth-ranked Andorra (16-18) 72-66 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Wiltjer recorded 10 points in only 11 minutes. Unicaja Malagais placed in the Liga Endesa. This year Wiltjer has relatively solid stats: 11.6ppg and 2.5rpg in 34 games. He is also in the roster of the Canadian national team.

   #10. Forward Conor Morgan (206-94, college: UBC, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Joventut in their game against Baskonia (13-9) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Morgan scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. his team lost 81-87 in Vitoria to the much lower-ranked (#8) Baskonia. Morgan has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 2.7rpg in 34 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Canadian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-94, college: FSU, currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Bnei Hasharon (7-26) in their last game. Despite Rathan-Mayes' very good performance the bottom-ranked Bnei Hasharon was crushed 92-68 in Beer Sheva by the much higher-ranked (#5) Beer Sheva. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Rathan-Mayes also added 3 assists in 24 minutes. Rathan-Mayes has reliable stats this year: 13.1ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.4apg in 10 games. He used to play for the Canadian national team two years ago.

   #12. Former University international guard Caleb Agada (193-94, agency: Blacktop Management, college: Ottawa, currently plays in Spain) helped Melilla Baloncesto win their game against the closely-ranked Carramimbre 77-71 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Wednesday. Agada recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 3 steals (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Agada averaged so far 12.8ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.5apg and 2.4spg. He used to play for the Canadian university national team back in 2015.

   #13. Former University international guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points, college: Ottawa, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Tecnyconta Zaragoza in a victory against the ninth-ranked La ICL Manresa 83-74 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Berhanemeskel recorded only 4 points in 12 minutes. Berhanemeskel has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.5apg in 34 games. He used to play for the Canadian university national team four years ago.

   #14. Former University international point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91, college: Calgary, currently plays in France) couldn't help Aix-Maurienne (9-25) in their last game. Despite Ogungbemi-Jackson's very good performance Aix-Maurienne was edged 72-70 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#11) Paris. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Ogungbemi-Jackson also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes. Ogungbemi-Jackson's stats this year are: 13.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg in 34 games. He used to play for the Canadian university national team back in 2015.

   #15. International guard Connor Wood (193-93, college: Carleton, currently plays in France) helped Quimper UJAP edge the league outsider C'Chartres 107-106 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. He recorded 15 points in 20 minutes. Wood has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.4apg in seven games. He is also in the roster of the Canadian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Canadian passport but never been selected to any of Canadian national teams:

   #1. Dylan Ennis (187-PG-91, agency: BeoBasket, college: Oregon, currently plays in Spain). Ennis could not help Andorra (16-18) to beat Unicaja Malaga (21-13). He recorded 8 points. Andorra was defeated 72-66 on the road by the higher-ranked Unicaja Malaga (#5). The Regular Season already ended. Ennis has reliable stats this season: 13.4ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.7apg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Jamaican.

   #2. Liam McMorrow (218-C-87, agency: Slash Sports, college: Tenn Tech, currently plays in China) led Hunan to a victory against the closely-ranked Guizhou (2-1) 111-103 in the Chinese NBL (second division) on Friday night. McMorrow recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 23 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks. Hunan Jinjian Rice (3-1) is placed fourth in the NBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. McMorrow has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.8ppg, 14.3rpg, 1.5apg and 2.3bpg.

   #3. Maurice Walker (208-C-91, college: Minnesota, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Saint-Quentin (11-8) crushing them 87-62 in the French NM1 (third division) in Saturday night's game. Walker recorded 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks. SO Maritime Boulogne (7-11) is placed eighth in Places 1-10 group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Walker has averaged so far 8.9ppg and 5.0rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and British.

   #4. Aleksandar Danilovic (202-F-93, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to help Ovarense (15-17) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Danilovic's very good performance the fifth-placed Ovarense (15-17) was crushed 94-68 in Oliveira by the leading Oliveirense in the Places 1-6 group. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Danilovic averaged so far 11.8ppg and 4.9rpg. He has both Canadian and Serbian nationalities.

   #5. Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Hungary) contributed to PVSK-Veolia's victory against the fifth-ranked JP-Auto JKSE (18-16) 88-76 in the Hungarian A Division in Friday night's game. Wright scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in only 13 minutes. Pecsi VSK-Veolia (18-16) is placed fourth in Places 1-5 group. Wright has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 3.4rpg in 22 games he played so far.

   #6. Paul Campbell (208-F/C-87, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Australia) was not able to secure a victory for NW Tasmania Thunder (5-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the 12th-placed NW Tasmania Thunder was defeated 66-59 in Canberra by the lower-ranked BA CoE (#16) in the NBL1 group. Campbell was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 9 rebounds. Campbell averaged so far 11.1ppg, 7.5rpg and 1.1bpg.

   #7. Torey Fassett (198-C, currently plays in Antigua) was the major contributor in Flyers' victory against the sixth-ranked Baldwin Braves crushing them 108-56 in the Antiguan ABBA in Sunday night's game. Fassett scored 21 points, grabbed 8 boards, passed 3 assists and added 6 steals. This season Fassett has very high stats. He averages: 25.1ppg, 9.2rpg, 3.3apg and 3.6spg.

   #8. Will Hickey (183-PG, currently plays in Australia) managed to help Melbourne Tigers in a victory against the fourth-ranked Knox Raiders 98-85 in the Australian State League (second division) last Sunday. Hickey recorded 5 points in 10 minutes. Hickey has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.9apg in 11 games.

   #9. Ryan Bennett (193-G, college: Brock, currently plays in Australia) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Stingrays crushing them 105-76 in the Australian State League (second division) on Sunday night. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Bennett has very high stats. He averages: 16.1ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.3apg.
