   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton, currently plays in Italy). He led Banco di Srd to a victory over the league outsider Pistoia Basket (5-17) 90-82 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Pierre was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 12 rebounds. Pierre also added 3 assists; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (10-12) is placed 11th in the Serie A. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. This season Pierre averages: 7.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 61.2%(41-67), 3FGP: 46.4%(13-28) and FT: 81.5%. He is currently a member of the Canadian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA). Murray was the main contributor in a Denver Nuggets' victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-38) crushing them 133-107 in the NBA on Tuesday night. He was the best player in that game. Murray scored 30 points (!!!) and had 3 steals in 32 minutes. The Denver Nuggets have a solid 47-22 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Murray has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.2ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.8apg, 2FGP: 46.3%, 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 84.7% in 63 games he played so far. Murray played for the Canadian national team in 2015.

   #3. The Canadian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in China). He contributed to Sturgeons' victory against the closely-ranked Jilin Tigers (24-22) 111-105 in the Chinese CBA in Sunday night's game. Nicholson was the top player that evening. He recorded 29 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and made 3 blocks. Fujian Sturgeons (26-20) are placed eighth in the CBA. This season Nicholson has very high stats. He averages: 28.0ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 60.9%(353-580), 3FGP: 46.4%(122-263) and FT: 79.1%. Nicholson played for the Canadian national team two years ago.

Forward Melvin Ejim (201-91, college: Iowa St., currently plays in VTB United League) contributed to an Unics Kazan's victory against the closely-ranked Lokomotiv (13-6) 84-77 in the VTB United League last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. Ejim also added 3 assists in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Unics Kazan (15-4) is placed second in the VTB United League. This year Ejim's overall stats are: 7.9ppg and 6.5rpg in 11 games. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Nigerian. Ejim is also Canadian national team player.

   #5. International forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain) could not help Unicaja Malaga (14-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Unicaja Malaga was defeated 85-76 on the road by the much lower-ranked Gran Canaria (#14). Wiltjer was the top scorer with 17 points. Wiltjer has relatively good stats this season: 12.1ppg and 2.4rpg. He plays currently for the Canadian national team.

Forward Thomas Scrubb (198-91, college: Carleton, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Prishtina (2-4) 100-84 in the FIBA Europe Cup last Wednesday. He scored 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Openjobmetis Varese (4-2) is placed second in group K. It's Scrubb's first season with the team. This year Scrubb has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.8apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Canadian National Team roster.

Former international point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (198-98, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Los Angeles Clippers' victory against the Chicago Bulls (20-52) 128-121 in the NBA in Friday night's game. Gilgeous-Alexander scored 17 points, grabbed 7 boards, passed 7 assists and added 3 steals. The Los Angeles Clippers have 41-30 record this season. Gilgeous-Alexander has reliable stats this year: 10.2ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.1apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Canadian national team three years ago.

   #8. Forward Dwight Powell (211-91, college: Stanford, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Dallas Mavericks (28-42) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Powell's very good performance the Dallas Mavericks (28-42) were defeated 112-105 in San Antonio by the Spurs. He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Powell also added 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Powell is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Mavericks' roster. His stats this season are: 10.3ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.3apg. Powell plays currently for the Canadian national team.

International power forward Kelly Olynyk (213-91, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in NBA) helped Miami Heat win their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-29) 116-107 in the NBA in Monday night's game. He scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 36 minutes. The Miami Heat has 34-36 record this season. Olynyk's stats this year are: 10.2ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.9apg in 67 games. He is also in the roster of the Canadian national team.

Despite Doornekamp's good performance Valencia Basket was defeated 94-89 in Madrid by the much lower-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15). He scored 10 points. Doornekamp's total stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.3apg. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Canadian senior national team.

   #11. International center Khem Birch (208-92, college: UNLV, currently plays in NBA) helped Orlando Magic win their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers crushing them 120-91 in the NBA on Thursday night. Birch had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. This year Birch's total stats are: 4.3ppg and 3.7rpg in 39 games. He plays currently for the Canadian national team.

   #12. Former international shooting guard Nik Stauskas (198-93, college: Michigan, currently plays in NBA) helped Cleveland Cavaliers win their game against the Detroit Pistons 126-119 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Stauskas scored 17 points (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). Stauskas has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 2.4rpg. He used to play for the Canadian national team back in 2015.

   #13. Former international guard Andrew Wiggins (203-95, college: Kansas, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-38) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Wiggins' good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were defeated 117-102 in Houston by the Rockets. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Wiggins has very high stats. He averages: 17.5ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.3apg. Wiggins used to play for the Canadian national team four years ago.

   #14. International guard Philip Scrubb (191-92, college: Carleton, currently plays in VTB United League) helped his Russian team Zenit win their game against the 12th-ranked Stelmet Enea BC crushing them 109-78 in the VTB United League in Saturday night's game. He scored 11 points in 23 minutes. Scrubb averaged so far 10.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 4.2apg in 19 games. He plays currently for the Canadian national team.

   #15. International point guard Kevin Pangos (185-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Spain) managed to help FC Barcelona Lassa to win against the 13th-ranked Movil Estudiantes 90-76 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Pangos scored only 3 points and added 3 assists. Pangos has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 1.7rpg and 3.0apg. He is also in the roster of the Canadian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Canadian passport but never been selected to any of Canadian national teams:

   #1. Kassius Robertson (191-G-94, college: Missouri, currently plays in Germany) led BBC Bayreuth to a victory over the 16th-ranked Science City Jena (5-19) 96-89 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Robertson scored 39 points (!!!) and added 5 passes in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. medi Bayreuth (12-11) is placed eighth in the BBL. It's Robertson's first year with the team. Robertson has relatively good stats this season: 12.9ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.0apg in 23 games he played so far.

   #2. Matthew Wright (193-G-91, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Philippines) was the main contributor in Phoenix's victory against the closely-ranked SM Beermen (6-4) 96-93 in the Filipino PBA in Saturday night's game. Wright was the top player that evening. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Phoenix Fuel Masters (9-2) are placed first in the PBA. Wright's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Wright has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.7ppg, 5.4rpg, 4.6apg and 1.4spg in 11 games. Wright has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Filipino.

   #3. Dejan Kravic (211-F/C-90, college: Texas Tech, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) contributed to an easy victory against the 12th-ranked Le Mans (7-7) crushing them 81-58 in the Basketball Champions League on Wednesday night. Kravic was the top player that evening. He scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. Virtus Segafredo Bologna (10-4) is placed first in group D. This year Kravic's total stats are: 8.3ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1bpg in 15 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Serbian and Canadian.

   #4. Dylan Ennis (187-PG-91, agency: BeoBasket, college: Oregon, currently plays in EuroCup) contributed to a 2-point Andorra's victory against the leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (5-1) 82-80 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. Ennis was the top player that evening. He scored 14 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 29 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group H. MoraBanc Andorra (5-1) is placed second. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Ennis' stats this year are: 12.4ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.5apg and 1.3spg in 19 games. He has both Canadian and Jamaican nationalities.

   #5. Keith Omoerah (194-G-92, college: Manitoba, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to a 2-point Mykolaiv's victory against the closely-ranked Kyiv Basket (22-3) 74-72 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Thursday. Omoerah was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 33 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. MBC Mykolaiv (6-6) is placed third in the Superleague. The Regular Season already ended. Omoerah averaged so far 13.8ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg in 16 games. He also holds two passports: Canadian and Nigerian.

   #6. Norbert Torres (198-F-90, currently plays in Philippines) contributed to a 3-point Rain or Shine's victory against the tenth-ranked Meralco Bolts 88-85 in a derby game in the Filipino PBA in Friday night's game. Torres recorded 9 points. Torres has averaged so far 9.1ppg and 3.4rpg. He has dual citizenship: Canadian and Filipino.

   #7. Experienced Michael Fraser (203-C-84, college: Oklah.Baptist, currently plays in Poland) contributed to an AZS Koszalin's victory against the closely-ranked Start 126-122 in the Polish EBL in Sunday night's game. Fraser recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Fraser averaged so far 10.3ppg and 10.3rpg.

   #8. Dejan Vasiljevic (190-G-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an Miami, FL's victory against the Wake Forest University 79-71 in the NCAA on Tuesday night. He scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 37 minutes. Vasiljevic averaged so far 11.8ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.2apg in 32 games. He has Canadian and Australian nationalities. Despite Vasiljevic's Canadian passport, he previously played for the Australian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Canadian team.

   #9. Jermaine Haley (201-G-97, currently studies in the States) contributed to a 1-point W.Virginia's victory against the The University of Oklahoma 72-71 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Haley had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 2 blocks in 33 minutes. Haley has averaged so far 6.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 2.4apg in 34 games.

   #10. Luguentz Dort (193-G-99, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Arizona St. (12-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Arizona St. was defeated 79-75 on the road by the University of Oregon. Dort scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. This season Dort has very high stats. He averages: 16.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.6spg.

BRAYLON RAYSON Luoyang Zhonghe (NBL) added to their roster 24-year old American point guard Braylon Rayson (175-86kg-94, college: Cent Michigan). He spent his 2-year professional career in Canada. He just played at Sudbury Five in Canadian NBL league. In 42 games he recorded very impressive stats: 24.5ppg, 4.0rpg and 4.8apg this season. DIEGO KAPELAN Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia (La Liga) agreed terms with 31-year old Canadian ex-international guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese State, agency: Octagon Europe). He is a dual citizen owning also Bosnia and Herzegovina passport. Kapelan just played at Soles in Mexican LNBP. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year.
