Todd Brown
TODD BROWN

Penarol Mar del Plata (La Liga) inked 31-year old American forward Todd Brown (196-92kg-87, college: Wright State). It is actually his comeback to Mar del Plata as he has played here before. Brown started the season at St. John's Edge in Canadian NBL. In 6 NBL Canada games he averaged 11.0ppg and 3.2rpg this season. The last summer Brown played at Mid-American in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
Among other achievements his team made it to the Austrian Bundesliga A Semifinals in 2012. Brown received also Eurobasket.com All-Finnish Korisliiga 2nd Team award back in 2014.
He is a very experienced player. Brown has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Brown has played previously professionally in Germany (Phoenix Hagen), Greece (Arkadikos), Holland, Mexico, Uruguay (Trouville), Argentina (Obras Basket) and ABA (Cleveland P.).
He attended Wright State until 2010 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.
Brown's game is described as: A player with a great resume. A vet player who has definitely been around. A rugged competitor who has been described as 'tough as nails' by opposing coaches. Has an excellent ability to score at high levels. Plays hard at both ends as seen by the fact that he has been named both all-league and all defensive selections. Can shut down opposing backcourt players if needed or raise his offensive game if needed. Sees the floor well and has spent time at all backcourt positions but is best going between the 2-3 spots. Shoots it well with good range and is quick getting up and down the floor. No weaknesses in his game. Is a great leader on the floor and almost acts as an on court coach. Great team player and a real pleasure to play alongside.

We bring you last week's top performances from Canadians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international forward Thomas Scrubb (198-91). He could not help Openjobmetis VA (9-7) in their last game. Despite Scrubb's very good performance Openjobmetis VA lost 73-78 on the road to the lower-ranked (#10) Germani BR.    [read more]
