Here is the weekly review of the top performing Canadian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Kevin Pangos (185-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to a 3-point FC Barcelona's victory against the ninth-ranked Zalgiris (3-4) 88-85 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Pangos recorded 10 points and added 5 assists in 21 minutes on the court. FC Barcelona Lassa (5-2) is placed fifth in the Euroleague. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Pangos averages: 8.1ppg, 1.4rpg, 4.0apg, 2FGP: 43.3%, 3FGP: 23.5% and FT: 82.6% in seven games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Slovenian. Pangos is currently a member of the Canadian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former University international guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain). He led Zaragoza to a victory over the 15th-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (2-6) 86-82 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. Berhanemeskel was MVP of the game. He scored 22 points. Tecnyconta Zaragoza (5-4) is placed seventh in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Berhanemeskel's overall stats this year are: 9.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 43.3%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 76.5%. He played for the Canadian university national team in 2015.

   #3. The Canadian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in EuroCup). Wiltjer contributed to an Unicaja Malaga's victory against the third-ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-3) 84-78 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He recorded 11 points in a mere 16 minutes. Unicaja Malaga (6-1) is placed first in group D. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Wiltjer has relatively good stats this year: 10.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 64.0%(16-25), 3FGP: 36.7% and FT: 73.3% in seven games. He played for the Canadian national team three years ago.

Guard Andrew Wiggins (203-95, college: Kansas, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Minnesota Timberwolves' victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (10-7) 107-100 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Wiggins scored 23 points, had 6 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 3 balls. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 7-10 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Wiggins' fifth year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Wiggins averages: 17.4ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.7spg. He used to play for the Canadian national team back in 2015.

   #5. Former international swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Denver Nuggets (10-7) in their last game. Despite Murray's very good performance the Denver Nuggets (10-7) lost 98-104 on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Murray also added 8 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Murray has very impressive stats this year: 17.1ppg, 3.9rpg and 4.0apg in 16 games. He used to play for the Canadian national team three years ago.

   #6. Guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont, currently plays in EuroCup) faced previously mentioned Kyle Wiltjer in the Eurocup last game. Bell-Haynes was not able to help Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the third-placed Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-3) lost 78-84 in Malaga to the leading Unicaja in the group D of Eurocup. Bell-Haynes was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 5 assists and 3 steals in 25 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Bell-Haynes' first season in pro basketball. There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Bell-Haynes' overall stats are: 7.7ppg, 1.1rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg in seven games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Canadian National Team roster.

International guard Philip Scrubb (191-92, college: Carleton, currently plays in VTB United League) contributed to Zenit's victory against the closely-ranked Kalev/Cramo (3-5) 100-87 in the VTB United League last Sunday. Scrubb recorded 14 points and added 4 assists. Zenit Sankt Petersburg (4-2) is placed fourth in the VTB United League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Scrubb has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.7apg and 1.5spg. He is also Canadian national team player.

Forward Thomas Scrubb (198-91, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point Openjobmetis VA's victory against the closely-ranked Vanoli Cremona (5-2) 82-79 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. Scrubb recorded 8 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists in 30 minutes. Openjobmetis Varese (4-3) is placed sixth in the Serie A. This year Scrubb's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 7.4rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg in seven games. He plays currently for the Canadian national team.

International forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Charlotte Hornets (8-8) crushing them 113-89 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Thompson recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 21 rebounds. He also added 5 assists. The Cleveland Cavaliers have not so impressive 2-13 record this season. Thompson is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his eighth year in Cavaliers' roster. Thompson has reliable stats this season: 10.1ppg, 10.9rpg and 2.1apg. He is also in the roster of the Canadian national team.

Point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (198-98, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Los Angeles Clippers' victory against the Golden State Warriors (12-6) 121-116 in the NBA last Monday. Gilgeous-Alexander recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 38 minutes. The Los Angeles Clippers have a solid 11-5 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Gilgeous-Alexander's first year with the team. His stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.9apg in 15 games. Gilgeous-Alexander is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Canadian senior national team.

   #11. International power forward Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in China) was not able to secure a victory for Sturgeons (6-7) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Sturgeons were defeated 113-105 in Jinan by the higher-ranked Golden Stars (#9). Nicholson was the top scorer with 38 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. This season Nicholson has very high stats. He averages: 30.2ppg, 9.8rpg and 1.9apg. Nicholson used to play for the Canadian national team last year.

   #12. Former international power forward Kai Williams Kai (198-89, college: S.Dakota St., currently plays in United Kingdom) was the main contributor in a 2-point Newcastle Eagles' victory against the closely-ranked Cheshire Phoenix 96-94 in the British BBL last Friday. He was the best player in that game. Williams Kai recorded 26 points (!!!) and added 3 assists. Williams Kai has averaged so far 9.9ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.3apg. He used to play for the Canadian national team back in 2009.

   #13. Former U18 international point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor, currently plays in France) helped Boulazac Basket win their game against the closely-ranked JL Bourg 86-82 in the French ProA on Saturday night. Chery recorded 15 points, 4 assists and 3 steals (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) in 30 minutes. Chery has very impressive stats this year: 15.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.7apg and 1.2spg in 10 games. He used to play for the Canadian U18 national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former U19 international swingman Trey Lyles (206-95, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jamal Murray. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Lyles helped Denver Nuggets win their game against the Atlanta Hawks crushing them 138-93. He recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Lyles averaged so far 10.7ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.8apg. He used to play for the Canadian U19 national team back in 2013.

   #15. Former U19 international power forward Stefan Jankovic (211-93, college: Hawaii, currently plays in ABA League) couldn't help Partizan (4-4) in their last game. Despite Jankovic's very good performance Partizan lost 71-75 in Podgorica to the second-ranked Buducnost. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Jankovic also added 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes. Jankovic has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 3.0rpg in four games. He used to play for the Canadian U19 national team seven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Canadian passport but never been selected to any of Canadian national teams:

   #1. Dejan Kravic (211-F/C-90, college: Texas Tech, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point Virtus Bologna's victory against the 12th-ranked Fiat TO (2-5) 82-79 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. Kravic recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Virtus Segafredo Bologna (4-3) is placed seventh in the Serie A. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This season Kravic has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg and 5.9rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Canadian.

   #2. Dylan Ennis (187-PG-91, agency: BeoBasket, college: Oregon, currently plays in Spain) could not help Andorra (4-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Andorra lost 84-95 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Unicaja Malaga. Ennis was the top scorer with 15 points in 27 minutes. Ennis has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.1ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.2apg in nine games he played so far. Ennis is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Jamaican.

   #3. Kassius Robertson (191-G-94, college: Missouri, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-5) crushing them 113-85 in the German BBL on Saturday night. Robertson scored 9 points and added 8 passes. medi Bayreuth (4-3) is placed seventh in the BBL. It's Robertson's first season with the team. He has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.9apg.

   #4. Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Joensuun Kataja (3-2) in their last game. Despite Wright's very good performance Joensuun Kataja lost 95-102 on the road to the leading Levski Lukoil. He was the second best scorer with 19 points in 25 minutes. Wright's team will play only one more game in the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Wright averaged so far 11.4ppg and 4.2rpg in nine games.

   #5. Joly Rudolphe (208-C-92, college: Sheridan JC, currently plays in Georgia) was not able to secure a victory for Energy Invest in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Energy Invest was defeated 86-79 in Tbilisi by the lower-ranked Delta (#7). Rudolphe recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. It's Rudolphe's first season with the team. This year Rudolphe has very high stats. He averages: 24.5ppg, 13.0rpg, 2.5apg and 2.0spg.

   #6. Luguentz Dort (193-G-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Arizona St. to a victory against the Mississippi State University 72-67 in the NCAA in Monday night's game. Dort scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. This season he has very high stats. Dort averages: 21.7ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.0apg and 2.3spg.

   #7. Godwin Boahen (180-PG, currently studies in the States) contributed to Ill.-Chicago's victory against the College of William & Mary 100-95 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. He recorded 24 points, 4 assists and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws) in 42 minutes. Boahen has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg in five games.

   #8. Dejan Vasiljevic (190-G-97, is currently at the American university) contributed to an Miami, FL's victory against the Bethune-Cookman University 78-70 in the NCAA last Saturday. He scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 33 minutes. Vasiljevic has very impressive stats this year: 17.7ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3apg in three games. He has both Canadian and Australian nationalities. Despite Vasiljevic's Canadian passport, he currently plays for the Australian university national team and is not eligible to play for the Canadian team.

   #9. Shakwon Barrett (196-G, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Tulane's victory against the South Dakota State University 84-80 in the NCAA last Monday. Barrett scored 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). He has averaged so far 1.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 5.5apg.

   #10. Ahmed Ali (180-PG, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to a Washington St.'s victory against the Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo 84-70 in the NCAA in Monday night's game. Ali scored 15 points and added 6 passes. He has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.5apg.
