Omar Strong (ex Mississauga P.) agreed terms with Quimper - Jul 2, 2015

Omar Strong
Quimper UJAP (NM1) inked American point guard Omar Strong (175-80kg, college: Texas Southern). He played most recently at Mississauga Power in Canadian NBL. In 32 NBL Canada games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.5apg last season. A very good year in his career as he was awarded USBasket.com All-NBL Canada Sixth Man of the Year and voted to 2nd Team.
The previous (13-14) season Strong played at Beroe (NBL) in Bulgarian league. In 9 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg in 2013-14 season. The last (13-14) summer he played at Vipers in U.S. semi-pro league PBL. In only one game he had 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 2014 season.
Among other achievements Strong's team won SWAC Regular Season in 2013. He received also All-SWAC Player of the Year award in 2013 at his college time.
Strong graduated from Texas Southern University in 2013 and it is his third season in pro basketball.
His game is described as: Hard nose guard that plays both sides of the court just as hard....Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Year 2013. Was also named to the AP NCAA All-American Team 2013. motivated by his son to stay humble, focused, and succeed as a professional basketball player!.

A home opener and a home win! UKC defeated MSVU in a heated battle at the Kingdome that had the crowd on its feet. In the first quarter MSVU lead by three points 19-16. King's came back in the second quarter dropping 25 points to MSVU's 19. In the start of the fourth quarter it was all tied up in the Kingdome, but the King's offense sprung through the MSVU defense.
