It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in CEBL, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise of round 3 in CEBL took place in Niagara where host Niagara RL (3-1) beat Saskatchewan R. (3-2) 108-91 on Friday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Niagara RL made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Dorian Pinson (196, college: Lincoln Memorial) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Guillaume Boucard (198, college: Carleton) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. Niagara RL's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Bruce Massey (190, college: MTSU) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Saskatchewan R. will play next round against Edmonton S. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Niagara RL will try to continue on its current victory against Guelph N. at home.
Important game to mention about took place in Guelph. Edmonton S. (2-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Guelph N. (2-2) 82-80 in the game for the third place. It was a good game for swingman Jordan Baker (201, college: Alberta) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Travis Daniels contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Edmonton S.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. DR Congolese-Canadian forward Chadrack Lufile (206-90, college: Wichita St., agency: Interperformances) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Guelph N.Edmonton S. will play against Saskatchewan R. in Saskatoon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guelph N. will play on the road against Niagara RL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 3 winless Fraser Valley B. was defeated by Hamilton HB in a road game 102-88.



Hamilton HB - Fraser Valley B. 102-88

There was no surprise when Fraser Valley B. (0-3) was defeated on the road by Hamilton HB (2-2) 102-88. They made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Hamilton HB outrebounded Fraser Valley B. 59-26 including a 42-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Hamilton HB players scored in double figures. American guard Rodney Pryor (196, college: Georgetown) answered with 22 points and the other American import guard Anton Gill (190, college: Nebraska) added 16 points in the effort for Fraser Valley B.Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamilton HB will again play against Fraser Valley B. (#6) on the road in the next round. Fraser Valley B. will play against Niagara RL and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Important game to mention about took place in Guelph. Edmonton S. (2-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Guelph N. (2-2) 82-80 in the game for the third place. Guelph N. will play on the road against Niagara RL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

MICHAEL FRASER Experienced Michael Fraser (203-C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hamilton HB and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 6. The 34-year old center had a double-double of 13 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team beat Niagara RL (#1, 6-2) 107-95. The game was between two of the league's top four teams.
