Ashton Smith

Edmonton Stingers (CEBL) added to their roster 29-year old guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA). He moved there from KW Titans in the NBL Canada where he started the season. In 41 games he recorded 13.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 5.3apg and 1.3spg this season. CEBL will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Smith helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to All-NBL Canada 1st Team.
The most of last season he spent at London Lightning. In 18 NBL Canada games he averaged 3.8ppg, 2.1rpg and 2.0apg. Smith also played for VfL SparkassenStars Bochum (ProB) in German league. In 13 games he had 11.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.8apg and 1.2spg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Smith was voted All-Austrian 2.Bundesliga Import Player of the Year back in 2013.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Smith's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Smith has played previously professionally in Colombia (Sabios), Indonesia (CLS Knights), Canada (Power and Durham) and NBA G League (Raptors 905 Missisauga).
He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania until 2012 and it is his seventh season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very versatile and smooth player who exudes confidence on the floor.
