GUELPH, June 13, 2018 - The Canadian Elite Basketball League formally introduced the Guelph
Nighthawks as one of its six founding franchises Wednesday at Guelph's Sleeman Centre. The inaugural
CEBL season runs May through August 2019.

'We are excited to formally launch the Guelph Nighthawks and have one of our league's founding clubs
join Guelph's rich sports heritage,' said Mike Morreale, chief executive officer of the CEBL. 'Guelph has a
history of enthusiastically supporting its local sports, and we plan to deliver a new basketball experience
that will appeal to both ardent basketball fans as well as those looking for an entertaining night out with
their family.'

Guelph joins Hamilton, Edmonton, Niagara (St. Catharines), Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), and Fraser Valley
(Abbotsford) for the inaugural season of the CEBL. Cameron Kusch, a 16-year veteran of the Canadian
sport industry who has been involved with some of the most internationally recognizable sports events
in the country, has been named President of the Nighthawks.

'In my brief time since joining the Guelph franchise I've quickly learned the wonderful sense of pride the
people of this city have for their community and its sports teams,' Kusch said. 'The Nighthawks have the
benefit of playing out of an intimate, modern arena in the Sleeman Centre, which we believe can be the
loudest arena in the league and one where fans will want to return game after game.'

The Nighthawks nickname honours one of the regions many species of wild birds. The Nighthawk
embodies the city of Guelph-elegant and graceful as it soars high above, ultimately employing its vast
intellect and superior vision in pursuit of victory.

'The team name and logo aims to tie in local themes, providing the Guelph community with a brand they
can proudly call their own and wear passionately throughout the city,' Kusch added.

Kusch comes to Guelph following seven years with Vancouver's BC Place where he oversaw stadium
revenue generation, managing relationships with corporate partners, securing events, and managing
facility relationships with anchor tenants the Whitecaps FC and BC Lions. An Honours graduate from
Brock University's esteemed Sport Management program, Kusch led a team that was retained by Golf
Canada to fulfill tournament operations for their PGA Tour and LPGA Tour Canadian Opens. He later
oversaw corporate partnerships and hospitality for the 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto. His roster of clients
also includes Major League Soccer, National Hockey League, Canadian Soccer Association, Rugby
Canada, AEG, and Live Nation.

Created by Canadians for Canadians, the CEBL will provide sports fans with a premium entertainment
option while also allowing players, coaches and other stakeholders the opportunity to engage in the
sport of basketball in meaningful ways that support the growth of the game in Canada. The CEBL will
operate in accordance with the player and referee standards set by Canada Basketball, the National
Sport Organization for basketball in Canada. It is the only league in Canada affiliated with FIBA, the
international governing body for basketball.
