The George Brown Huskies took out the Georgian Grizzlies 67–59 on Friday (Jan. 30) night on the road.George Brown's defence was on point, holding Georgian to just 30% shooting from the field in the opening half. Thanks to Jayme Foreman (5'9''-G) and Jordyn Dawkins (5'8''-G) combining for 15 points, the road team led 35–30 at the half. The back-and-forth continued in the third, but with George Brown up 44–41, they capped the quarter on a 7–0 run to push their lead to 10, 51–41, with one quarter to go. Despite a strong push from the home side, the Huskies held on for the win. Foreman once again was dominant offensively, going 8-of-17 from the field for a game-high 21 points, while adding six rebounds and two steals. It marked the fifth time this season she posted 20-plus points in a game. Dawkins filled the stat sheet with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, while Corrynn Parker (6'1''-F) chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. The Huskies (4–6) are back on the court Sunday (Feb. 1) afternoon against the St. Lawrence Surge (0–10). The Huskies still control their own destiny in terms of hosting a first-round playoff game. Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm.
