Frisco, Texas ― Former head coach Adam Harris was released Monday night in a shocking move by league owner Benjamin Brinkley, who cited a "dysfunctional situation" between the coach and director of basketball operations, Charles Johnson.

Less than two month after coming to the basketball tryouts on October 21, Brinkley cited “personal agenda” and breech of contract in firing of Coach Harris. The coach had a year left on his contract and finance teams were not disclosed.

"When I decided to hire Adam Harris in mid-October, I did so with the expectation that he was going to be a part of the Texas Basketball Coaching Satff and contribute to the development of our players," Brinkley said in a statement. "Unfortunately, that did not prove to be the case, and Coach Harris has done several actions that have led me to this decision that have convinced me that we simply could not move forward with such dysfunction between Coach Harris and the Texas Basketball League."

"In short, this entire process over the last month convinced me beyond any doubt that I had to act to change this untenable situation and create a better environment," Brinkley said.

The several players reported that tension had been building between Harris and the TBL' front office after he has got involved with a negative criminal elements and people with questionable motives. The front office didn't approve of Harris' actions and condones any illegal activities towards the Texas Basketball League.

For the past several weeks, Coach Harris didn't return phone messages nor emails as the league was investigating towards a "dysfunctional situation".

"This decision was so hard because Coach Harris is a tremendous basketball player and valued coach of our league," Brinkley said. "But my first obligation is always to do what is in the best interest of our fans and the entire Texas Basketball League organization. I must take whatever steps are necessary to deliver quality basketball to the state of Texas. Events of the last month have now convinced me that it is not possible for our organization to function at a championship level under the current structure with Adam Harris as a head coach."

"On the contrary, and in the plainest possible language, we have a dysfunctional situation here. Today I am resolving that situation once and for all," he said.

Although Coach Harris describing the situation to various players in the league as “ a work in progress”. Mr Brinkley informed his staff that change was inevitable, Smith sounded concerned, saying, "Both in the same year -- Wow."

Several days ago at a meeting between Coach Harris and Mr Brinkley at Starbucks in Arlington, Coach Harris cited his reasoning towards his recent conduct in the league . Mr Brinkley became visibly angry towards the explanation about his actions and released him from contract.

Harris has been at odds with Mr Brinkley since Mr Brinkley returned from the North Carolina basketball tryouts in November, apparently over business decisions by the league owner.
“Coach Harris has to remember that he is a first year coach in semi-pro basketball. He is a coach, nothing more, nothing less. I am the owner of the Texas Basketball League and my business decisions are made with the entire league in mind, not for someone that has “a personal agenda”. I have learn from previous situations that I have encountered with the other semi-leagues that I will not deal anyone that doesn't have the commitment towards making the Texas Basketball League one of the top semi-basketball league in the country. I don't have time for coaches with questionable motives or “a personal agenda”.

Speculation grew following the lack of communications between Coach Harris , current staff and players in the Texas Basketball League Mr Brinkley, once he arrived in Texas on November 22nd. “For the past couple of weeks, I hav
