Regular Season Round 16: Saskatchewan - Edmonton 70-89
Date: July 15, 2023
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Stingers (8-9) rolled over 8th ranked Rattlers (6-10) in Saskatoon 89-70 on Saturday. Stingers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Isiah Osborne (196-1996, college: Carleton, agency: VM Hoops Agency) supported him with 26 points. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by guard Mike Nuga (188-1997, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Rattlers. American point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) added 18 points (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers maintains sixth position with 8-9 record. Loser Rattlers dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Stingers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rattlers will play against Bandits (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
