Regular Season Round 14: Saskatchewan - Ottawa 88-89

Tenth-ranked Rattlers (4-9) gave a tough game to first ranked Blackjacks (9-5) in Saskatoon on Wednesday. The visitors from Ottawa managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Blackjacks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Jackson Rowe (201-1997, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Blackjacks players scored in double figures. American point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and British-Canadian forward Jermel Kennedy (201-1989, college: Lander) scored 26 points. Rattlers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blackjacks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-5 record. Rattlers lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Blackjacks are looking forward to face Honey Badgers (#9) in Hamilton in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rattlers will play on the road against Stingers in Edmonton and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
