Regular Season Round 12: Montreal - Saskatchewan 79-88
Date: June 28, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Montreal where 8th ranked Alliance (5-7) was defeated by bottom-ranked Rattlers (4-7) 88-79 on Wednesday. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Malik Benlevi (198-1997, college: Georgia St., agency: Verus Management) who added 10 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Benlevi is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Rattlers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Treveon Graham (198-1993, college: VCU) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Rattlers went down to tenth position due to points difference. Loser Alliance keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Rattlers will meet at home higher ranked River Lions (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alliance will play against the league's leader Sea Bears where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
