Potawatomi Fire forced the decisive third game in the championship series as they fired past St.Louis Griffins at home court. Fire dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Griffins' 54 and had 34 for 47 from the free-throw line, while Griffins only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Fire forced 19 Griffins turnovers and had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Griffins' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fire made 7 blocks. 32 personal fouls committed by Griffins helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Deshawn Munson (193-1995, college: Harris-Stowe St.) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Kierre Moore (192-1995, college: Richland CC) chipped in 30 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Fire players scored in double figures. Guard Marcus Latham (191-1998, college: Indianapolis) responded with 34 points (!!!) and Ranell Crossland (198-1995, college: EIU) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
